BonasPullman porters had to put up with a lot of BS treatment especially from drunk ivy league college students
In the northeast I doubt many students, even Ivy League students, rode in sleeping cars. Traveling between Boston and New York or Washington and New York just was not a long enough trip.
However, there was a joke college students would play on each other, especially when a fellow student had had too much to drink. In those days New York and Boston trains used Grand Central Terminal. When the train stopped at 125th Street they would awaken their inebriated companion and tell him it was New Haven or wherever he was going and get him off the train.
