Sign - Ditto [#ditto] I really never took a likeing to GE locos. Plus EMD's have Better sounding turbos.Wink [;)] Most of the time, not saying all. Plus I can't tell the diffrence between the locos.

Other wise, if I didn't like EMD, I would probably like the Dash 9

I don't think People Hate diffrent locos, but rather is one less down The list. See if I had a list I would proabably have the EMDs first but then the GE would be still on there, just lower. it dosn't mean that I hate it, just means that it isn't my favorite.

Atmo you forgot to rank CSX or was that deliberate.

Never seen one in real life, living in Southern Alberta! But, hopefully on my trip to Montana I'll catch one. I love GEs, and the C40-9Ws are no exception. NS paint is very nice, and gives a great look to the loco!

I will say this much for the Dash-9;

It was the first somewhat decent loco GE  built.

It is better than the new EVO.

PS: Can someone tell me how I can change the spacing in these messages? The problem is that each time I hit "Enter", the next sentence skips a line. If I just keep on typing the paragraph stays together such as this one. Hit enter now.

See what I mean.

That would be pretty rare seeing a c40-9w in montana ,but still you do have a chance of seeing one!

I love Dash 9's in all their incarnations. The C40-9W's are no exception. I thought the standard cab Dash 9's NS had were pretty neat too.

One thing though... I hate the cab headlights!! Drop them please!!

Besides any problems they present for operation (reflection off of snow, rain, etc), they just look so stupid!!! (Sorry if I offend any of you on this, but...)

If it has to be in NS paint, make it an SD70M-2, SD80MAC or a high hood SD40-2. Just please no more Crash 9's.Dead [xx(] On a recent trip to the NS Chicago line most of the trains I saw had those darn things leading. Luckily, I did catch several SD70M-2's and a few high hoods. I'm not saying I hate 9-40CW's, but I'd rather see other power.

Give me a C40-9w (or better yet) a GEVO any day of the week.  Those 70M-2s stink, the doors don't shut right, they are rough, and they are LOUD.  Can't even hear yourself think in one.

It's been fun.  But it isn't much fun anymore.   Signing off for now.

I love widenose GE's whatever their flavor may be.  The widenose to me looks nicer than the Spartan cab.  Do I really care whether it's EMD/GE?  Nope...as long as it's a widenose I'm happy!  Especially if it's CNW or ex-CNW!
