Any Turntables and round houses still standing?

In Jacson, MS the CN (IC) turntable and partial roundhouse are still very much in use.

Dilworth , MN on the BNSF still has an operating rounf house.

The NYSW has to have one somewhere as they have a steam loco made in China.

TP&W still has a working turntable just east of the diesel shop in East Peoria. The roundhouse is gone, but the table is still used to turn engines. You actually need to use the table to get into the diesel shop, since the only track access is at the east end of the building!

I believe there is still one in Cleveland Flats (W 3rd Street). Only part of the round house is still standing and the turn table is still there.

The roundhouse at Grand Trunk Western's ( Canadian National's) Pontiac yard just got torn down, but the turntable is still there. The track is actually used as well. Several years back, the Ann Arbor roundhouse at Elberta, MI had to be torn down because some boob torched it.[:(] It would still be standing today, otherwise.

In Folsom, CA, there is an old SP "armstrong" turntable that is restored (and still works according to the volunteer at the nearby museum). It is in the middle of a parking lot and is isolated from any remaining track.

Well, no round house but turntable.

In Phoenix AZ in the BNSF yard, they have a turn table there they use almost daily. (straight from the yardmaster mouth. I wanna get down one day and watch if they turn a -9 or 4400, how cool would that be?

Somewhere I read there is 1 in Ogden UT. Also wherever the UPRR stores there working steamers there has to be 1 also.

There is a roundhouse and turntable in Huron, South Dakota. These facilities were once owned by the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad, and are now in the hands of the Duluth, Minnesota & Eastern. The roundhouse was originally built in 1903. A good share of it was torn down several years ago as it became too expensive to heat. The turntable is still in use, and while I am not sure of it's length, I know that it is long enough to handle an SD40-2.

The narrow gauge turntable in Laws, CA. still exists, albeit the the track is missing. There are plans to completely restore it to it's original condition because the museum has just finished it's ng motor car and plans are for this vehicle to transport people back and forth to Bishop, someday.....

The turntable at Greenfield Village (next to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI) is people powered.
My son and I helped turn their little industrial engine on it, some 10-12 years ago.
Does anyone know if they still have their fall RR days?

the cable cars in san francisco have a manual turn table s ,at each end of the track ..the powell and mason line and the powell and hyde st. line , powell and market st .and 1 turn table in the storage barn that makes 4 turn tables total.... glennbob in colorado

The Hull-Chelsea-Wakefield RR (near Ottawa (Ontario), Canada), has the only operating manual turntable in Canada. yes there are some traces of round houses in chayne wo. at the main up yard and the building off the bnsf yard is all bricked up and used for storage glennbob

Cumberland maryland has a turntable and roundhouse still in service, cincy queensgate has a single engine turntable. anderson indiana has some stuff left crestline ohio's old pensy one is falling down but looks like it used to be huge

There is a turntable at Barr Yard in Riverdale, Il; but no roundhouse for the CSX. The EJ &E has one huge round house in Lake Station, In. and someone also said in Joliet Yard, in Joliet, Il. The IC/CN/GT in Hazelwood Yard in Hazelcrest, IL has a turntable, but for all the times I have been past there, I have seen no turntable. The Indiana Harbor Belt, has a large roundhouse in Hammond, In. at its' Gibson Yard facility. And the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe in Cicero, Illinos, also has a roundhouse, and a turntable.

The KCS turntable in Pittsburg, KS is still used occasionally for turning locomotives. The Missouri Pacific roundhouse in Joplin, MO contains a manufacuring plant. The Eureka Springs and North Arkansas tourist line has a working ex-Frisco turntable at Eureka Springs, AR. The BNSF diesel servicing facility in Springfield, MO has an ex-Frisco turntable newly installed in the 1980's so they didn't have to take engines clear cross town to turn them. They had to pay a crew both road time and yard time. I have pictures of Frisco 1522 turning on it the last time it visited Springfield. The former Santa Fe turntable is still in place in Chanute, KS, but is not in use. The BNSF still uses the former Santa Fe turntable in Newton, KS. The former MKT turntable from Kansas City was donated to the Midland Railway tourist line in Baldwin, KS and the former Frisco turntable in Oklahoma City was donated to the Oklahoma Railroad Museum in OKC.

There is a frequently-used turntable with many radiating tracks at the north end of the Norfolk Southern's (PRR) Juniata Locomotive Shops in the Juniata (northern) neighborhood of Altoona, PA. Although not as good as in years prior to street shortening, there is good viewing and photo op through the iron fence, both around the Sheetz convenience store on the corner, and down the side street. Some tracks lead into the shop bays, one to the yard, and others are used for storage of locos and wrecks waiting for work.

The California state Railroad Museum and their Sacramento Southern Railroad has a working Turntable. It is located in back of the Museum itself. Also part of the Museum building is refered to as he "Roundhouse". Equipment is on public display on the Roundhouse tracks. The Museum is located in the Old Town area of Sacramento.

yes i beleave the round house in COMO, Colorado is still up but needs work in chayane ,wo. the burlinton santa fe round house is stilll standing some new cinder block has been added but allass it is no longer used to store trains; glenn bob

THe Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum has a turntable at the midpoint of its excursion ride. I had the privilege of riding the loco and riding the turntable. Teh museum is located just north of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
