A most frightening one for some people.  Actually, I'm looking forward to seeing them in Armour Yellow and Harbor Mist Gray, not just a patch.

You got me... and that's pretty amazing since I just read the 844 being scrapped thread, so I should have been ready.

I've learned to be wary of April Fools day on forums....so I don't take these things at first glance anymore.

Update... UP decided that they didn't like the patch job & repainted both units into full CNW colors.

If you are looking for a response to your question. I would much rather ride a GE than an EMD. GE's are quieter, ride better, have better seats and are easier to get on and off of carring a grip and lunch box.

And I saw them today (April1) going into Proviso, headed by UP 1995 the CNW heritage unit, so as of about 3 hours ago they were NOT patched -- and that's no foolin'!

Just because what you call 'real' CNW engines are gone, doesn't mean that CNW's dead.  Thought you were a fan!Black Eye [B)]

Truthfully, I hope the "True" CNW duo never "die".

i want 8575 back....*sigh*....or 6847

if it meant losing 8646 or 8701 to get it back, i'd do it. i mean you'd still have a -9 left. just more variety now

"NO FOOLIN" I was standing right next to Dave on a crappy photo day in Lombard, IL and the 2 unpatched units along with UP 1995 rolled by us, finally after waiting several hours and missing the Railroadiana Show at College of Dupage in the process.  Here is photographic proof, not Photoshop altered(not very good at that) from April Fools Day 2007.

I guess I should have tried to photoshop in a patch job and added to the April Fool Joke.

At first we were irked by the red CP engines but the more I think of it, some sensitive soul realized this was not the time or place to add UP to the mix.....

i caught him once at night and got bad shots obviously. and then once i saw him go past the window when i was in class and i couldnt get any shots. 1995 looks so much better in person than pictures.
