That would probably be Judge Joe Brown, but there's also another black judge that I think is called James Smith.

ALL of the guys and gals in the services get my vote. They all deserve better than what they have right now. They have and will always have my support.

About 6 months ago, Military.com had about 7 to 8 minutes of gun camera footage of an AC 130 gunship "dusting" lol haha the ground and etc. in Afganistan. There were a few other "things" that were dusted too. I found the clip very ENJOYABLE. I don't know if it is still available or not. But if it is you certainly might want to take a look at it. [;)]

I DON'T LIKE JUDGE JUDY. She is rude, arrogant, and self-centered. That is my opinion, but I know many others who feel the same way. If I were female she WOULD NOT be my choice for a role model.

What's even worse is that when they get hurt (or killed) there is always some sick lawyer out there suing the railroad, the engineer, the conductor, and everyone else in sight.[:(!]

Hi Jim,
Actually, the part were the trainman fired up a joint didnt bug me at all.
Until the Ricky Gates/Amtrak accident, a few years ago, if you didnt toke dope, or have a fifth of booze on you, most crews wouldnt work with you.
But, now that there are mandatory random drug testing programs, it has pretty much dissappeared.
I am no prude, but I dont smoke dope or drink, for no other reason than I had most of that done by the time I was 18, and just never really enjoyed it that much.
Now, what you do on your time is your business, and what you do in the privacy of you home is no one elses business either.
But, if you disreguard rule G, and come out to work with me stoned, and I know it, I will not cut you slack. I will tell you to call a relife. If you dont, I will call the trainmaster.
This stuff is way to dangerous to be around straight, much less when your "wasted", and your screw up can kill me and others.
What got me chapped was this.
If the crew the poster mentioned had found him, and not tossed his butt off the moving train, then, legally, that have assumed responsibility for him.
Once we know your there, we have two choices, call the gumshoes, and put you off at the first chance, or leave you there, and hope you dont get hurt.
If we do the second, and something does go wrong, you sue us for not taking care of you while you were trespassing, because if we know your there, and dont do anything about it, your no longer tresspassing, your our guest!
Sounds stupid, but then no one ever said our legal system was smart.
And lastly, the guy said that train hopping was his hobby.
Great, just what we need, a person making a crime, and a very dangerous one at that, into a hobby, then writing about it on a forum read by young people, who may take what he writes as a incentive to start a new hobby like that.!
I take some comfort in knowing that most of the younger guys who read this forum are smart enought to not take up train hopping, but theres always that one in the bunch who dosnt excercisie the common sense muscle, and ends up being the kids we have to dig out from under the train.
Heres a simple example,
Remember the photo of the locomotive I sent you that was bent like a inchworm?
What if our hobbiest had been in one of the trailing units on the other train when that happened?
If he lived, you can be he would have sued us!
Now, I like fans, I am one myself.
I dont mind you taking photos of my train, and when I am in the yard working, I have been known to take a fan's camera into the yard and shoot a photo of a odd piece of equipment for them.
I have let kids and their Dad up on the locomotive, when we were in a sideing, and let them sit in the engineers seat, blow the horn, ring the bell, that stuff.
But thats all done under careful supervision.
Riding in a trailing unit is a crime, its dangerous for you, and for us.
You dont work here, so stay off the property, off the equipment, and stay alive!
That simple.
Kinda surprised Wabash didnt beat me to the punch on this, I know he dosnt tolerate trainhoppers either.
Stay Frosty,
Ed

This thread is both entertaining (Ed's story) and ironic. JUST this last weekend Ed chewed out a guy here in the forums. Ed, as we all know, does an excellent job of teaching us about his line of work and answering question from all of us. But he jumped out of his regular character and let this guy have it. The guy had stated that he had basically been hoboing since the 70s. He mentioned he likes certain types of locos (the DD40Xs for one) and had ridden on the locos and the crews never knew it. He made the mistake of accussing a train crew member of "smoking" and I imagine that was the straw that broke the camels back. Ed let him have it. I also noticed this guy made several posts this weekend. I think he comes and goes so who knows when he will be on next. After he reads Ed's post to him he might want to lay low for a while. I know I would.

I guess more of the railroaders will be finding their mirrors now. HUH ? I wonder if Ed found his yet? [:)] You know they used to advertise these glasses that had little mirrors in them so you could look behind you without turning your head. Wonder if they still have them? I bet sales to railroaders might be going up soon. [:D]

Wow, that's some story, Ed! I wonder what ever happened to Mr. Cellphone.

Here's a story I mentioned in a thread about auto-racks, but here it is again.

Back in I think the 80's when they were still using some auto-racks with open sides, two guys decided to ride the rails by sneaking into a new honda that was being hauled on a train (not sure what RR) in a yard in Vancouver, B.C. As the train left and was travelling, these two morons got some fun out of burning rubber right there and honking the horn at people by the tracks and even waving friendily at the crew of a passing train. So much for not wanting to be noticed. As it turned out, somebody called the cops (surprise, surprise). The train ended up stopping in a town while several police cars waited on either side of the track. The men were arrested, but I'm not sure of the final out come. Now people like that are just plain idiots!

Did anyone hear about that boy in new york city who rode on top of the subway car and got his head ripped off by a steel bar near the ceiling? Or has anyone seen move "Speed"? In the end the bad guy loses his head because he hit a tunnel light or something.
Just think of things that can happen to you if you fall off a train car.[xx(][xx(]
It can really hurt, and a credit card won't help you at all.
Oh, and Mr. SLIC- next time you make a post please make sure your "Caps Lock" light is not on.
Stay off trains and tracks.

To clarify the posting, my undestanding is that train hoppers suffer from a genetic disability that makes them frantically hop like a jackhammer when
they when they are exposed to trains.

Nothing is more fairly distributed than common sense: no one thinks he needs more of it than he already has.

I wonder if Mr Celphone was the guy mentioned on deadtrainbums.com they found tied up, naked, in a pile of his own urine and *** in the trailing unit of a cross country train. Oh by the way did I mention that he had been repeatedly raped by hobo's unknown during his "thrillseeking" ride...

Not the kind a thrill I think he had in mind...

Ed, That was hilarious, sad and true all at the same time. I hate to say that they got what was coming to them, but it could have been much worse.

I think the worst of it is that even if they have no regard for their own safety be it from the railroading aspect or from the dangers of others along the way, is the complete disregard of its affect on the RR employees. Like Ed mentioned, if they had been injured or killed, the trainmen are the ones who will have to bear the burden emotionally, investigations etc. Not to mention how it brings the anti -RR wackos out of the woodwork.

I have been looking at more of these web sites.....quite interesting. Don't worry you're not going to see me out there. The "old timer" hobos .......which I guess I still find kind of strange......homeless drifter type with internet access are constantly bashing the new "yuppee wannabe's" with the cell phones and laptops and vice versa.....but speak with the same disdain of the RR employees and police. Just my observations. Darwinism works for the most part.

I say, catch them, pack them off to the gulf and let them spend a night working the flight deck of a carrier with some true 19-20 year old heroes who dodge props and rotors all night long for $1500 a month and show them some REAL adventure. Then lets see them talk about how brave they are.

Alas, that would require commitment of more than a weekend. Don't want them to miss their Starbucks. (My apologies to Starbucks). Adreneline junkies don't care about the mundane. Hopping a train such as has been described would probably be a rush from the moment they started their journey until they disembarked, presumably where they wanted to, although, as also described earlier, not necessarily.[xx(] Spending 6 months in the desert where you KNOW people are going to shoot at you isn't as appealing as the potential danger of riding and getting caught.
