Bryan-
Fans of all ages are welcome. We do not discriminate for any reason (except in one case--a person who shall remain nameless was a complete psycho-nut and was barred).

May I suggest checking out the threads regarding tresspassing and safety. Many people have great ideas on how to stay safe while having fun. And eventually you'll become an old railfan, with stories to tell about the "good old days" of SD70's and C44-9's and so on.

But always stay safe. The physics (speed, weight, size, danger) of railroading are different from anything else you've experienced before.

I think they are just fine. [;)] If it wasn''t for young railfans, there wouldn't be older railfans. Many of our young railfans have as much common sense as some of the older ones. And some of the older ones could borrow a little common sense from some of the younger ones.

Greetings,

I must say it is nice to see young railfans trackside. It is great to see the hobby continuing. I also agree that sometimes some of the older ones could borrow a little of the younger ones. Just remember to stay safe. Being in law enforcement I would hate to have to respond an accident involving a person and a train especially a young person.

I'm 17 right now and have been a railfan for all my life and certainly don't have any intention of slowing down. It's really great to see other people my age out here who are as interested in trains as I am. My peers all think I'm nuts being a railfan. ICEtrain, welcome to the forums! It's really great to see another young Canadian here. I'm from Saskatchewan and haven't been out to your neck of the woods yet. Feel free to e-mail me.
