Thanks for the posted website link beeline. I think I have a more detailed link of the story but I can't find it but I will post it in a day or so and no I have NEVER been so drunk that I wanted to drive anything in front of a locomotive. I'll think I will keep the O'l John Deere in the yard and off the tracks but I live a good two miles from the tracks so I would probley get hit by a car before I would make it there anyway. With all the farmers that drink around here I'm shocked I have not read about a train and tractor accident. Anyway keep safe and check back for the link. - Knox [8D]

Alaska, before I was married I had several tavern's I would frequent. Back then if I had less than $500.00 in my wallet, that meant I had to go to the bank. I would collect pay checks on top of the refrigerator. The company I worked for would call me up and tell me by the check number, which checks I needed to cash, so they could balance out there books. But I fell in love and got married. Now I have two boy's who out grow clothes in less then a year, and a morgage bigger then a steam engine and I have not been to a bar in five years!!! I should have stayed drunk and stupid.

I can't seem to find the link right now but a while back I found an article about a woman, who was sober, that walked into the side of a moving locomotive. The were switching an industry and according to the crew, the woman was looking at something down the tracks and walked into the side of the fuel tank.

Drunkeness can be bad! I have had one bout, but not bad enough to make me drive the 'ol Snapper down the street and across the tracks, in hopes that I could maybe 'see' a train. Oh well...I guess it doesn't hurt to laugh...but not to hard...nah, never mind that!

That isnot the stupidest thing I have heard. Here in Wisconsin a SOBER 37 year old man thought it would be cool to show his 14 year old son what happens when a switch is thrown. The Problem is He decided to do it while a train was using it. The train derailed killing him and taking out a fence, backyard playground for kids, and a kennle for a dog, along with several trees. His son thought it was a bad idea and so was over 50 feet away. Luckly there was no kids playing on the playground, so only the man and the dog where killed. I bet you the Father didn't win any parent of the year awards.

As far as the goat goes maybe he could get the goat from the Adam Sandler (hope thats how he spells his last name) comedy CD. You know the one where the goat is tied up and some guys come along untie him play football with him and offer him a beer. No no wait knowing that guy he would throw the football across the tracks with the goat going after it while a train was coming. Then again he could ride the goat across the tracks while both are intoxicated. Ok sorry about that I could not resist. I'll take my on advise and keep it about the trains. Stay safe!!!

To VSSMITH:

I don't know how he could have missed it. The horn is blowing, the ditch lights are on, Its the middle of a great day (last weeks weather was perfect, unlike now thanks to Iselbella) and there is a big black and white loco with a horse panted on the front coming down the track at only 20mph. He is lucky it was only the local performing switching moves. As far as accident investigaters keeping a straight face I don't know how they could have. I guess the only thing is how must have the engineer and conductor felt watching this idiot pull out in front of them. I mean when its a car you always assume theres a chance the people are ok but when you hit a guy on a lawnmower??? Maybe the alcohol kept him limber enough not to stiffin up on impact and thats what threw him clear. Oh well.
