Ok guys and girls. I have heard that this is a mid - atlantic only food. You can't get it anywhere else in the country except for Delaware, Maryland, certain parts of Virginia, and certain parts of Pennsylvania that I know of. Scrapple. If you don't know what it is than you don't want to know. It's made from a pig, everything thats from a pig goes into making scrapple. I know some of you are ready to heave but its taste great. It just helps to take a few years off of your life. In the old days they would take all the stuff from inside the pig - put it into the skull and boil it and some how make it that way - I don't know how it is made in the "modern era" . Oh and I could not find the link I promised you all for the detailed report of the lawnmower idiot but if i find it I will post it. I got Thursday and Friday off so so i will try to look for it and post it. See ya all and keep safe - Knox
Cool site to visit http://www.trainweb.org/peninsularailfan/index.html - local site, very cool http://crcyc.railfan.net/ - Conrail site, also cool http://www.thedieselshop.us/MPR.html

I'm really glad now that I tried kim chee before I knew how it was made. Kinda weird.

Have any of you ever heard of rotten shark? It's a tradition in Iceland and it's exactly what its name suggests: shark meat buried for months until it rots/ferments. Then they dig it up and eat it, and I don't think there's any cooking involved anywhere along the line.

No thank you!

OK - we are going to have a private conversation here - just you and me!

You have to knock off the jokes and the puns. Now I will tell you why!

I have an office - all by myself. Took me many years to get it! I am supposed to be in here dilligently working and earning my buck 2.98. My co-workers aren't very far away. They hear me in here laughing myself into stitches and they KNOW I am not working! Absolutely nothing I do in here regarding work is the least bit funny. So if you keep posting these really funny comebacks, Mook will have to hold her breath and leave her office and go "across the hall" and bust out laughing - then they will wonder what is so funny in the powder room! Do you want this on your head? I think not!

Mookie

Keep 'em guessing, Mookie [:D]
And when they ask you whats so funny, explain it to them referencing something from your work--they will be so confused.

Mookie coworker: "Jen, what's so funny in there?"
Mookie: "Oh, just this report I'm working on".
Mookie coworker: "What report could be so funny?"
(already they begin to wonder about her)
Mookie: "Just this report about ABC Company is applying for a permit to build a
gazebo. Isn't that just the funniest darn thing?"
Mookie coworker: "Sure, Jen. Say, perhaps you need a little vacation."
Mookie agrees.[;)]

I mow a lot of grass for a lot of people, so my concern is for the mower the drunk wrecked.
I did modify a small riding mower, it does burnouts and my dad clocked it at about 20mph.

Now if I were splashed with a tank car full of kimchi, I would run not walk to the wash station no matter how hot the water was to get it off of me. That smell makes skunks scared.

If they had offered me chocolate cake I might have stayed, still would have to pass on the entree.

My brother was stationed "over there" while in the Air Force in the 70s. He told stories like they would feed rice to a dog. They would let the dog eat alot of rice. Then guess what happened to the dog. (This is the short version) Also, those non-American people who cleaned the GI s housing would almost fight for the scraps the GIs would throw in the garbage barrell.

I have smelled ChemChi (however you spell it), not a pleasant odor.

p.s. Crow is best if you tenderize it first, and use some bbq sauce!
[:0] NO NO Zardoz - it is your name I am referring to - I just think it is so fascinating, now that I know what and how! You should tell people - it really is very clever!

And....probably should be very careful about mentioning Crow around the other fowl we have here - ducks and chixs...little sensitive about those things.....

Traditional Kimchi IS BURIED to aged and ferment it, so your friend was right.

I once worked with a guy who was from the Phillipines who got busted trying to return to this country with CANNED DOG! Not canned dog food... CANNED DOG MEAT!
It was confiscated...Woof,Woof.

But you really haven't lived until you've been to Korea and dined local.

A buddy of mind got me once. Offered me some goldfish. Reached into the bag (pepperidge farm bag) and pulled out a handfull of dried minnows.....smelled like, well you know but not too bad. Also had sun dried octopus....kind of like jerky, but the smell. Kimchi not too bad either once you get past he aroma and the thought that it has been buried in someone's back yard for awhile.

BBQ there's not too bad either, but never did see too many strays running around......woof, woof.

My friends complain when we eat Japanese and I'm always getting stuff that looks like it came out of the Klingon Cookbook (sea urchin, jellyfish with grated sharkfin, ummmm, ) but bbq possum sounds really awful.

Of course the reason it smelled so bad is that before they threw it on the bbq they probably forgot to skin it after picking it up off the roadside.
