Some basic Info.
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, September 12, 2003 10:27 AM
Well, here's the thing, I have been train watching for almost 14 years now. I started when I was eight, so I have a feeling I'm pretty devoted. I'd bet that I've seen every train that exists, so I have no challenge anymore. I travel around the world watching trains, but now that I've seen each one, there's really no challenge for me. I'm losing interest. I'm looking for some trains, trains that I have not seen, in other words, you could say I'm looking for rare trains. So, send me some pictures, please? Thank you.

If you've seen all the trains in the world. Why don't you take one or two of your favorite ones and start a scale models. Like me I really like the acela Express so I have started to model it in HO scale.

Start looking for mongrels, mice and critters at work, that would consume another lifetime.

(Favorite: San Luis Southern's D-500, now an endangered species because the railroad is all but gone and the land was sold out from underneath without abandonment. Home built / chain drive/ gas engine/funky carbody switch engine)

Don't think you're looking very hard if youve seen 'em all. Been to Mookie's back yard and watched BNSF switch the Havelock shops with that oddball BN GP9-B?

-dirty bird

Mudchicken Nothing is worth taking the risk of losing a life over. Come home tonight in the same condition that you left home this morning in. Safety begins with ME.... cinscocom-west

So, if you have seen them all, what did you think of the PTRA's MK1500Ds?

Havelock? There's a Havelock up this way (central ON), too -- once a big yard on the CP north main line, now a rather interesting little railroad town, still a big yard -- moves an amazing tonnage of minerals.

The Lincoln Havelock is very old and very small and has just been absorbed into Lincoln proper. But at the heart is a pretty good sized shop for railroad repairs and a nice small community with a main street. AND saw an SW10 and SW15 headed that way this weekend - switching light industry around there.

I liked it better when I was green! I could spot Ed at a glance and I looked much better in green! But it isn't easy being green!

And the fact that I am female means I outrank Ed. He would stand up for me when I came in a room; I would remain seated when he entered.

Don't you just love manners! [;)]

Madam Da Mook would like to have four green stars instead of gold. You're likely going to have to ask, Mook. You know, the manners thing.
