Hop aboard the "Do Not Die Special". [:p]

Coming from "Oblivion" to a monitor near (actually yours) you. [:D]

This winter is absolutely crazy here. Wednesday we had 1 hour of sleet. Just as the sleet was beginning to stick the sleet became snow. It snowed hard for about 30 minutes. All the time it was sleeting and snowing the air temp was 37 to 38 degrees. It did not stick. Now the snow and sleet happened around noon to about 2 in the afternoon. At midnight when we got off work the ground was dry but the temperature was around freezing. This is the second time this has happened here this last 2 weeks. On a Saturday it began snowing heavily about 3 in the afternoon. Around 7 pm it had accumulated to about 5 inches. It snowed more. The grocery stores had their usual "run" on milk and bread and other grocery items. I was sure we would not have church the following day and stayed up late that Saturday night. Around 2 in the morning I walked the dog and heard train horns. The snow had stopped, the trains were moving but nothing else was moving. Later that morning I noticed the snow was melting. By noon the roads were clear. By about 2 or 3 in the afternoon all the snow was gone.

This is the craziest winter I think I have ever seen. Every time we have snow it is above freezing. After the snow melts it turns cold. It is good for us that the two don't seem to get together. Now the snow that was here on Thursday is in Atlanta and other southeastern states. They are having problems. And Dan H was telling us of the rain in California. Rain, snow, warm, cold, crazy times we are having. [8D]

And how is YOUR weather. [:p] [?]

Spring is almost here in Georgia. You can tell because my wife's school system is doing a series of "severe weather drills" which look a lot like the old air raid duck and cover bits. These drills are for tornados.

My wife says her school was supposed to have a drill yesterday, but it was cancelled due to....(wait for it, wait for it)...rain.

A sure sign that the end times are near is that they had snow in northern Georgia last night. I know I moved down here from Connecticut for a reason... oh yeah, shoveling snow. Hate it.

Oh, and I love biscuits and gravy. Chicken dumplin's, too. My wife, born and raised "suthin'" is working on the grits thing. She eats grits. The dogs eat grits. I fill potholes with the dang things. Speakin of speakin suthin, y'all ain't been properly fussed at till yew hear the words "Bless yore heart." As in, "Erik is one depty who ain't carryin all the cards in the deck, bless his heart." In her more reasonable moments at trackside, my wife will tell passersby "He's just fixin to waste some film on that there train, bless his pea pickin lil ol heart." I'd pitch a hissy fit but it knocks off mah focusin'. She's a good ol gal for a GRITS(girl raised in the south) who lost her head over a dangyankee, bless her heart.

(Y'all are supposed to nod your heads wisely and pity the poor woman.)

By the way, one of the best eatin spots in the south is the "Fried Green Tomatos" restaurant outside Birmingham, Alabama. They's plenty of trains a goin bah and the food is jest pure heaven on earth.

Beautiful this week, Sunny, couple of clouds, temps in the -8 to -5 C range (25 to 30F).
Last Thursday: 95cm (38")of snow in 24hrs, winds gusting to 90kph (45mph), province wide State of Emergency. Sort of what Mookie had in January.

AND I missed the Russel plow backed by three RS23's punching through seven foot drifts near the local feed mill cause my 4-wheeler couldn't plow out my driveway! [banghead][banghead]

Life ain't fair!

Erik,

Don't feel like you're alone! Some of us "suthners" don't like grits either. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't feel grits to my worst enemy: I'd wish grits to NO ONE. Do like stewed tomatoes, put in the oven with home made biscuits and sugar over them. UM UM GOOD![:D]

And I don't care if you northerners make fun of me, either. You just don't know what's good:
except for one thing: yankee pot roast. That is good.

Has anybody though about using sewage as fuel for trains and cars? It probably stinks but might as well use it. What else is it good for?
