Hey Kev,

Canadian and proud to be so. Ya know, once CN takes over the entire USA, we'll ALL be Canadian and then our brothers and sisters to the south will get to appreciate the joys we take for granted. Molsen Canadian (and the commercials that go with it), Bon Homme de Neige, moose in the back yard (white tails in mine) and one of the finest rail systems in the world. (now THAT may generate some heat)

I hope that will not happen again!! I have a question for you. I see a lot of empty spine cars or lumber cars heading back North empty. Do railroads make money on one way cars? Have they looked into finding a commodity to load on these cars so they do not go back empty? Seems to me in today's economy one way loaded cars are break even cars.

Havent decided if I like all the new gadgets or not, but it sure looks a lot better, and I like being able to move around as easily as you can. And the e-mail thing was a great addition.

It's really good to see another "old professional" here. [:D] We have had several discussions that involved such things as rates and revenue and it sure would have been good to see your input on how those things are figured and the rational behind them. Two threads talked about Amtrak funding and included the above subjects.

I am a former station service employee with train and engine experience. It was "you guys" that put together the tools I needed to move the cars (other than the engine and tracks). I know how it's done, and have done it myself, on occasion, but that is no substitute for an experienced dooer.

Like Ed says, there are other railroaders on these forums, but since it (literally) takes all kinds to run a railroad, Welcome, Welcome, Welcome back.
