BNSF Stock Picked as a Top Pick
Posted by andrewjonathon on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 4:46 PM
Tonight on CNBC'sKudlow & Company a stock analyst picked BNSF as his top stock pick. The reasons he sighted were because of increasing trade with China and an increasing number of truck companies putting their trailers on the train for the cross country ride.

International trade is increasing, period. CN and CP work the Canadian West Coast more intensively with new facilities; and the CP's old boat line, now independent but still called CP Ships, had a big stock run-up this year. Norfolk Southern handles a great deal of coal--including metallurgical to Europe. And I'm sure CSX and UP are doing their very best. BNSF is a great company, but the question to ask should not be, "Should I buy this stock," but rather, "Does this fine company have an inflated stock price that would make the dividends unusually small?"

In the nineteenth century, when people asked the Baron de Rothschild for stock-market advice, he would pull an august pose and reply, "It will fluctuate." That's one of the very few verities about investing in corporate stocks!

That is true the divadiends are small because most of the money comeing from stocks go to the infrastructer adding track to already congested main lines and new locomotives and rolling stock. No BNSF is not over inflated. I work for BNSF and own stock so I am investing in my company.

Oh, chill out. We're just having some fun. Remember fun? And they have three, count em three locomotives. Now would you call that a two bit short line? Besides, getting back to the topic, BNSF is a very good investment.
