However, I doubt we will see an end to the use of the cab units for many years. Along those lines, think about the old "B" units and the hihood units. Now you won't see a B unit on a Class 1 these days but might catch one on a tourist train or possibly a short line. NS DOES however still have some hihood units in use. Santa Fe bought them pre merger. See them down here all the time. BN had a B30-7A, a cabless B30-7...they had an entire fleet. Havent seen one of those in a while.
