What is BDLX?

this past weekend i saw a former Conrail B23-7 #4053 at the Allentown yard. it had "BDLX" stenciled in white near the cab. does anyone know what this stands for?

With reporting marks, anything ending with an "X" indicates ownership by a company/individual, other than a "railroad". Example: TTUX indicates ownership by "Trailer-Train" corp.
As far as the "BDL", I have no idea.

I'm not making this up -- BDLX is the Association of America Railroads reporting marks for the BDL Co. I have no idea what "BDL" stands for. As far as I can tell, they're a small player in the locomotive rebuild/leasing business.

Many years later I see this post as I was looking up BDLX. BDL, Inc stands for Big Dog Leasing situated in eastern PA.
