I'm thinking it went down after dark - not a lot to see then. First noticed about 9:30 or so, I think.

WOW!! This real interesting.?/!! I just heard about it from a railfan friend of mine, I had to get on the forums right away. I was told that the engineer of the BNSF unit ran through a red signal and collided with a rail grinder at the dimond. That must of been a wake up call for the offensive train's crew. I hope no one was hurt. :(

That is not true. The BNSF crew had the signal, and when they arrived at the diamond the rail grinder was in the limits, and slowly moving towards the diamond. The BNSF crew witnessed the grinder come to a stop very close to the diamond and supposedly the person running the rail grinder released the brakes when the rear of the BNSF train was crossing and rolled back into the train. The extension "platform" at the top of the grinder is what tore into the containers and knocking them off the train. Of course I am purely "speculating" here, because there is no way I could know. Underatnd it occurred after the sun went down. It should have taken that tree down where the siding switch is [:D]

No, if you look at the story link that was posted above, the BNSF stack was clearly over the diamond when the UP grinder decided to move ahead and hit it.

Supposedly a railgrinder on the UP has collided with a stack train on the BNSF with a POSSIBLE ensuing wreck. By looking at the webcam there appears to be a lot of bright lights and containers ripped open with thier contents spilled all over.
