Jusgt heard (Mar. 2020) that the Surface Trasportation Board turned down the offer from Colorado Pacific RR (Soloviev 's line) to buy the tennessee Pass line. The UP doesn't want to sell to anybody and this pie in the sky Uintah basin scheme is just a UP pretext to not sell.

OK, This might be considered ,Kinda, Sorta, Off Topic

BUT It is concerning the UNITA(H) BASIN area.Cowboy

After all it is in the UNITAH Basin!                         This past Tuesday night; after the History Channel show 'Curse of Oak Island'. They ran a brand new offering, it was called 'Secrets of Skinwalker Ranch"  [A story of a 'hot spot of paranormal activity] produced by the same group that has 'The Curse of Oak Is."

Skinwalker Ranch is about 5 miles from the proposed western terminus. My dad lives near there, (About the same distance actually) and of course they have heard the stories. He's never seen anything strange but does at times get weirded out when he's out checking cows at night.

OPEC and the other major oil producing countries just agreed to cut over-production to keep the world oil industry from collapsing.  Not a good time for oil related infrastructure.

In honor of Halloween, let me point out that the "Indian Canyon Alternative" on the STB map (In TRAINS newswire today 10-30) would seem to skirt the northern boundary of Skinwalker Ranch:

Per this site, there are supposed to be about 300 billion barrels of oil in the shale in Utah. Read down to the fourth paragraph. For comparison, the Bakken has been estimated at between 4.4 billion and 11.4 billion barrels of technically recoverable oil on a field estimated at 24 billion barrels.

Just a TRAINS Forum, Point of Interest!  Whistling   Best Wishes to Mark Hemphill on this endeavor, and look forward to 'updates' from anyone interested in its progress! That can supply information.... Thumbs UpThumbs Up

Colorado, Midland & Pacific RR ? _Diesel Fried Chicken and his troops are seriously getting after it. (STB FD-36471) .   should be hitting the newswire.

Front row seat for this one - How do they stitch this thing together.QuestionQuestionQuestion

Tennessee Pass will no longer be out of service - first trains will need something a little bigger for a cow/people catcher and NIMBY remover.
