Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
evening
Had a little bit of rain so far today.Cooling off outside.Ns had a mixed frieght to go west in the siding.Brother reports minor damge at his place but he is waiting for the power to come back on.
We're only an inch or two off where we should be for precip - but it's been a lot drier here than south of the Thruway, where they've been getting flooding all summer in various places.
We're due for some rain over the next day or two.

Balt. well we are predicted for 5+, inches of rain. Just 1/2 inch so far /Wind 40 + MPH and the rain after 2200 tonight. Wind right now is nill. probably due to fact we are on the left side of eye track .
Drove over the bridge over local resevoir that has a boat launching ramp - normally you can see a couple of hundred feet of the ramp going down to the waterr - this trip you could not visually see where the boat ramp started. Locally we are less than 10 inches from the ALL TIME accumulated percipitation record for the year and there are still two and a half months to go. They are calling for one to three inches of rain from the remenants of Michael.
Never too old to have a happy childhood!
White stuff falling out of the sky here on the 11th floor in the Denver Tech Center. Nothing sticking to the ground yet, but the flakes are a healthy size.
We're a trifle north (and east) of you at the moment, Paul, and going over the cliff as we speak. This (western Michigan) is another part of the country that probably needs no more rain...the river in my sister's back yard is as high as I've ever seen it, and probably now high enough not to be affected by the Lake.

We'll be getting such a correction tonight. Monday and yesterday were both summer weather and today starts that way. After the squall line goes through late this afternoon, the temp will drop to the 40's tonight.
mudchickenSolid white precip predicted here tonight - What fall?
My sister said she had to go wading to get to work the other day (area of Monaco and Evans).
Meanwhile, we set a new record high today at +82F or so.
We're supposed to get a "correction" later in the week.
Had a momentary power interruption about 1840. thank goodness for surge protectors. Started raining here about 8 hours earlier than predicted. Standby generator up and ready with 25 gallons of non ethanol gasoline on hand that will go into mower if not used. . Propane gas grill is ready as well .
Solid white precip predicted here tonight - What fall? Trees at this elevation are still green. Copcar may already be looking at a white coating. Boss Hen is picking any 'maters of color right now. Garden is probably done.
Regardless, the moisture is welcome.
Work busy.Ns sent a westbound stack train when I got off of work.Chores to do here.Brother could be in the path of Mike.Depends which way it turns.Calling for first frost by the end of the week here.
A friend in Florida was discussing preparations for Michael on a ham net this morning. He's been down there for a few years, but never for a storm.
Discovered the lines at the gas stations, and was talking about getting a generator. Assuming he can find one, he's going to have a heck of a time finding an electrician to put in a transfer box before the storm hits...
He's kinda used to getting what he wants/needs when he wants/needs it - not used to having to wait...
blue streak 1 Preparing for hurricane Micheal. Potential for a 10 day power outage. Out of date 2400 V primary system.Preparing for worse hoping for best !

And those poor people in the Carolinas can look forward to getting a lot more rain dumped on them.

Very foggy this morning.Matt was closed today.Went walking this morning.Heard Csx trains go by.Saw the ND&W come into Defiance from Napoleon.Came home after lunch and took care of the swamp.Very warm outside right now.Tomorrow it's back to work.
Foggy drizzly type day here in Nw Ohio.Matt was our driver today. We went by the Ns yard in New Haven. There the high hoods were busy working the yard.Ate Lunch and found Matt some dress clothes for his school project.Went up to Garrett and followed the J 716(Csx) to SDI in Butler. While waiting we noticed a sperry doodlebug parked in the Auburn siding. We then went up to the NS Chicago line in Butler Indiana.Matt reports that ns has taken out the wabash searchlight signals at west Butler. The NYC signals are still at the diamond at Butler.NS was sending trains west side by side.Matt went to check his schedule for next week.Good thing I have tomorrow to rest.Going to be busy busy busy.
Morning
Well Mother Nature sent more rain earlier than the guessers predicted.Anyone going to Sauder Village or Auglaize Village is going to get wet.Going to tell Matt to keep the trains at home.Going to take Stacey to lunch for our Anniversary.
I dropped in the hosts file mentioned in another thread. My malware program (mostly for cookies) found over 400 less such files on my last weekly scan.
rvos1979As an aside, does anyone have issues with getting redirected from the Trains mobile site to various deal and/or sex sites? Seems to be getting worse again..........
Rain and drizzle in the area.Ns had some cars uptown.Need to give hugs next week.Chores to do here.
Home now, looks like I'll be fighting my fifth wheel again this winter. Had a hard time getting it to lock this morning in 40 degree weather, finally gave the mechanism a good coat of WD40 and latched and unlatched it a few times, seems to do the trick. Not sure why this only happens on our International and Kenworth trucks, but not the Freightliners, and they all have the exact same fifth wheel assembly........

Murphy Sidingand had it painted bright red. What a big maroon!
Why buy a Delorean if you're going to paint it? That should be illegal. I never was a fan of the gutless wonders, but a stainless car is a paintless car.
CSSHEGEWISCH Spotted an interesting sight on Sunday while I was out running errands: a real live Delorean actually being driven. Wasn't too sure when I first saw its nose but a left turn in front of me at a stoplight confirmed it with its stainless steel body.

Ns local was uptown switching.Chores to do here at home.Matt is doing homework before he needs to go to work.Glad tomorrow is Friday.
Put in a very late night at the office last night. The reward was watching a rail grinder (20 stone switch grinder) working the RTD line along I-25 across the freeway from the office. Quite the light show with the sparks flying - I guess that rascal did not have drop screens like the bigger units. Sparks got all the way over to the shoulder of the freeway.
Ns sent a big westbound mixed frieght when I got off of work. The local was uptown as well.Going into town here so Matt can do some yardwork.Mower is good to go.
