Cleveland should be the Hub of vast network of Passenger and Freight Railroads and should be as big as Boston because of its Great Location between NY and Chicago and that there should be a High Speed Midwestern Corridor. Someday the Browns or The Indains will win a championshio and that will be the birth of "The Great Lakes Midwestern Megolopolis" and the northeast corridor will be flooded making Cleveland the center of a great civlization! Long Live Drew Carey!
[soapbox]2- Railroads are the best way to move anything in any amount from Point A to Point B
[soapbox]3- By Intergrating Greyhound with Amtrak we can have seamless ticketing and it would be good for both partys
[soapbox]4-Freight Railroads signed a unholy Alliance with General Moters at the Country Club that in excahnge for lucrative Auto Parts Hauling Contracts the Railroads would Dismantle there Passenger Service by making the trains so bad nobody would ride them thus forcing people into cars(read to hell In day coach)
[soapbox]-5The US Goverment should own and maintain the tracks using the Army Corp Of Engineers just Like they do with our nations waterways and canals. Who ever wants to run on them leases or buys rolling stock and buys a track slot. Amtrak is failing because Freight Railroads HATE passenger trains becaus they are cahoots with General Moters.
[soapbox]-6 Railfans should stop being apoligists for the Railroad Exucutives and take Railroad Labors side more often. To be a railfan means that you like trains not that you worshop the Railroad Corperation. I could Imagine some railfan have a UP logo in his basement witg candles and incence[}:)][}:)][}:)]

But seriously, your agenda lacks credibility. For example, the US government should own the tracks, and train opereating companies should buy operating slots. Well, they tried a variation of that when England privatized Britrail with disasterous results.

5) The Army Corps of Engineers takes forever to get things done and spends 100x what a private company would. Bad idea to have them maintain any asset. It would rust away before they completed their exhaustive studies on how to maintain it...

LA doesnt have much to go through to get thier water. The state of California is guarenteed 7.5 million acre feet (Acre foot is the amount of water to flood an acre of water 1 foot deep) of water as Per the Colorado River Compact. This Compact guarentees that California, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and Wyoming get 7.5 million acre feet of water each and much of that comes from Wyoming and Colorado. The water in the Green River is mostly dent down stream into the Colorado River and sent down for places like LA to use.



And there is no way that there is 1/5 of the world's fresh water supply in Cleveland, North America has somthing like 1/3 of the worlds fresh water supply due to the large freshwater lakes in Canada.
