Wonder if she did the bouys through the Thousand Islands. Of course, at the time she sunk, my knowledge of where I live now was nil.
These days those duties are handled by the soon-to-be-replaced Robinson Bay and a barge. I can drive over to Clayton, though, and see the bouys lined up on the waterfront pier.

I remember reading about the Princess Sophia disaster in school. If I recall correctly, the only survivor was a dog, who was found on a nearby beach several days after the sinking.
I think some bodies were found onshore in positions that indicated they had gotten out of the water alive, only to die of further exposure and hypothermia.

Great news about the wildlife corridor. The overpasses and fencing along Highway 1 in Banff National Park work quite well.
The Crowsnest is a beautiful place. The prairie turns into mountains very quickly in southern Alberta. All those old mining ghost towns, some still hanging on. And the ghost of Frank, where many more died than at Hope, but in the same manner.
CP should have done a few of their GP20C-ECO rebuilds in old switcher schemes.

107 is a 1919 Baldwin 2-6-2, built for Louisiana's Calcasieu Paper Company. Originally a woodburner, she was later converted to oil. The coaches are ex-Northern Alberta combooses, originally built for the Boston & Albany in the early 1900s.

How long did it take for EMD to solve the slipping and engine problems with the SD40's? The SD40-2's ended up being pretty darn good units, and the remaining ones still are, even though THEY have now been run into the ground, just like the FM's.
It is interesting to see the sandblasted appearance of the trucks and running gear in so many old colour photos, steam and diesel alike.
