QUOTE: Originally posted by Junctionfan I ask this is because I have asked several questions on specific freight cars that haven't been answered yet because it gets lost and put on another page. I still haven't got an answer about Theile kaolin covered hoppers. I don't think it's because anybody doesn't care but rather that in a day, those with the knowledge may just have come off of work and may not want to go through 2 or more pages to check what he or she missed. I figured that maybe this is an organization issue due to high volume. It's not a bad thing but wonder what I and others should do when we have questions that can't be answered right away. The only other thing I can think of is if that a topic like that can be general like Stupid question thread and be made "sticky" by Bergie. For example I could start a topic called "Rollingstock questions"; would that be something that would be worth having available all the time?

It might drop fast, just put a post in it once and a while to keep it up until you get an answer. by the way...the star of the north, best of the midwest, is obviously Minnesota.

QUOTE: Originally posted by radivil See, the problem is there's two Midwests: the Midwest and the Industrial Midwest. The Midwest is all that stuff west of the MIssissippi, north of Texas (Texas is it own thing), and east of Colorado. The Industrial Midwest (the Old Northwest, the Great Lakes States) are the states north of the Ohio that ring the Great Lakes. At least that's how I always saw it.

I've always thought of Mookie's 'midwest' (as aptly described above by radivil) as the "Great Plains." In fact, Univ of Neb, Lincoln runs the Center for Great Plains Studies.
