Have fun with your trains
To paraphrase Abe Lincoln:
"God must love fools, He made so many of them!"
They must have thought the train could swerve around them, or that it could stop on a dime.
Too bad he did not stay in the car. He would have earned a well deserved Darwin award.
Not that it matters now, but, why didn't they put the stalled car in neutral and roll it off the tracks to some safe place where they could put the jumper cables on it and start it?

I am still not entirely sure which car was stalled and whether it was the stalled car or the "helper" car that got... uh... remodeled.

Maybe, just maybe, because they were idiots?
Maybe the idiots got the insurance company to buy them a new car that starts better.
That would require thought. Obviously, they weren't thinking.

Perhaps they did not know that one car was on a railroad track--or that trains use the track?
Johnny
Well at least the one guy saw the train coming and pulled the other one out of the car and they retreated toward the direction the train was coming from.
Never too old to have a happy childhood!
Unfortunately, if they can find a sympathetic jury it will turn out to be the railroad's fault for having the nerve to run a train on their track and not swerve out of the way of the car.
1) I bet most drivers don't know that the car will roll in neutral (these days).
2) If the battery dies in the new keyless cars, will it still go in neutral so it can be rolled?

Neither of those cars appeared new enough to be keyless.
