ACY's actual first name is Tom, and I'm one of the very first baby boomers, born January, 1946.  I have been interested in railroads since at least age four, and have been an active model railroader since the late 1950's. But I'm very new to computers.  I was born in Ohio, but have lived in central North Carolina, Chicago, Phoenix, and the Washington DC area.  Currently residing in Maryland.

I consider myself more of a railroad historian than anything else, and am a bit uneasy with the title "railfan".  Favorite railroads are Akron Canton & Youngstown, Akron & Barberton Belt, Baltimore & Ohio, New York Central, Nickel Plate Road (especially Wheeling & Lake Erie); Pennsylvania;  but there aren't many RR's that I don't like.  Lots of shortlines could be added to that list.

Retired from Amtrak onboard service in June, 2014, after 27 years and over 3,500,000 miles.
