2012 TRAINS Forum Gathering Trainfest Milwaukee WI
Posted by kschmidt on Friday, November 2, 2012 6:13 PM

For the past several years members of the Trains/Kalmbach Forum members have tried to get together at TRAINFEST in Milwaukee. We have had large and small groups.  This year we will try again.

For those that are attending any member of the Forums hosted here at Kalmbach we will meet at the Kalmbach Publishing Display at Trainfest at 12 Noon.

Trainfest is one of the largest Model Railroad/Train Shows in the US.  With over 140,000 square feet there are operating model railroads of all scales, hobby shops, manufacturers, historica societies and more.

Trainfest is put on by the Southeastern Wisconsin Division of the NMRA.  Over 20,000 people usually attend the two days of Trainfest.

To find out more and get some reduced admission coupons check out www.trainfest.com

Quick Info

Where: Wisconsin State Fair Park Exposition Building

When : Saturday November 10th and Sunday November 11th  9am to 5:30pm Both Days.

Again lets get together at the Kalmbach Publishing Display at 12noon on Saturday.

I'll be there (I am the tall guy in the last row in last year's photo).  When my wife saw the photo her eyes narrowed and she asked, who is the blond in the front row?

That's Mary Graf and she is with Kalmbach.  We were happy to include her last year -- one year she was our photographer!

This is a good chance to meet not only Kalmbach staff on our favorite magazines, but folks on the various train and model train forums that are otherwise just names.

I was beginning to wonder about this.  We'll see how this looks with the powers that be...weren't those powers our photographer last year?

Today's the day...this noon's the noon!

We have our tickets, and will drop in after spending a little time catching (we hope!) some trains at Duplainville.

Pat took one, Quentin; I hope Keith posts it soon.  Not as many people showed up this time, but Model Railroader's Jim Hediger is in this one, along with about six of us.  We tried to get Dave Nelson to stand up straight, but nooooo...

Put that one on my bucket list.  This time of year, though, it's hard to find any free time.

I got to spend the day coughing and sneezing. Sigh I figured that my fellow forum members would not appreciate it if I gave them my sickies.  Hopefully next year!
