Q - I checked and you are "on" there already.  There is nothing personal posted other than your name.

Go in and look around a little.  You can open and close things and trace your lineage or that of friends, depending on how much they put out.  Younger people are a hoot.  They tell the world everything from their shoe size to if they have dandruff.  You just quietly lurk and read.

J

Oh, and, we both have posted more info on here than we will on FB.  Just our generation.

I was going to mention that. Quentin, you've probably made more personal info available here in the forums than you ever will on Facebook.

And for the record, my shoe size is 11 and I don't have dandruff. Clown

Hmm, same size as mine, and I don't have dandruff either!Wink

Back some years ago, we used to spend the worst part of Winter in Florida, did so for eight years.  That used to add a "few" miles {each year}, to our automobile, plus our trips to Pennsylvania, etc....So, now without the Florida running, and I normally use my Xtreme {my toy}, around here, the car mileage should not add up very fast.  And we're getting older......but still here.

Good Wednesday morning everyone.  It's going to be another hot, hot day:  our projected high for today:  100 degrees by 3 p.m.  That's what I saw on the local news forecast this morning.

Bob, thanks for coming in early and starting the coffee and fixing breakfast.  Yeah, we're still using Sarah's laptop.  She'll be home sometime later this morning.

Everyone have a good morning, keep as cool as possible, and take care.

Quentin, I see that you made the FB plunge, and have sent you a friend request. Mine is the one with a pic of a destroyer for a profile pic.

I must have had a bad dream last nite, cause I woke up very down and depressed. I wish I could remember my dreams....

Morning all! I’m back after not being able to log on for the longest time.

It sure is a scorcher in western Indiana today! I’ll be headed down to my Grandpa’s to mow his yard in a while. I’ll have to take a few gallons of water to stay hydrated.

Looks like this weekend I’ll be running our antique (if you want to call it that) Cub Cadet 1200 lawn tractor in the local Sweet Corn Festival. Lets just hope it won’t be quite as hot and humid!

Mother say's we can go train chasing/railfanning next weekend!

School in 1 week and 6 days… Sad

Be safe all!

Justin

Justin: The elderly fellow across the street has been using a Cub Cadet for over 30 years. Would you share a pic of you & yours in the festival?

Hot.  Check.

Humid.  Check.

Boy did that breeze coming in through the end door of the baggage car feel good when I was "calling" the southbound leg of our trips today!

It was train robbery day.  On train had 50 kids from a summer camp and their counsellors.  They were actually pretty well behaved...

Currently 82 inside and 77 outside, with humidity at 69%.  Should be interesting sleeping tonight...

Good evening everyone.  Looks like we've really been slow in here today.  Is the heat getting to everyone?  We couldn't get on the computer today, as Sarah got home and was sleeping.

Our temp got up to right around 100, with the heat index somewhere around 110 to 115?  All I know is, it was very, very hot.  Even tough we had a breeze, it was a warm breeze.

Haven't heard anything about our computer yet.

Everyone have a good evening, keep cool and take care.

Not a bad day today. Several light sprinkles kept the temp down a little. We went to Quad Cities for doctor and errands and then Texas Road House steak dinner. We have eaten at many of them in the US, but ours is the best. The baked potatoes are awesome.

Good Thursday morning everyone.  Still using Sarah's laptop, as you can see.  Hopefully, we'll get a call about our puter later today.

Well, Louisville, KY broke a record for high temp yesterday:  102 degrees was our official high yesterday. "Nuff said on that.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the serving station this morning: bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, made from scratch buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy.

Everyone have a good morning, keep as cool as possible, and you all take care!

Not hot yet (0900 = 72F) but the humidity is sitting at 80%.  Not looking good, comfort-wise.

Plenty on the list today.  Better get to work.

We have a Texas Road House here in Muncie.....We visit it quite frequently.  Has always been in the "better" category of restaurants here.  Competition here is:  Olive Garden {right next to it}, and across the street is:  Red Lobster....Must say, all three are in the good category of food.

It looks like we've been pretty slow in here this morning.  Larry, hope you get your errands done.  We did have some rain this morning, a little thunder and lightning, that dropped the temp a few degrees.  Maybe we'll get a little more rain this afternoon.  Amount of rain in our guage: 3/4 of an inch!

Here is the menu for the rest of the day:

1.  Grilled steaks w/baked taters, broccoli, green beans, corn, cauliflower, and tossed salad.

2.  Sloppy joe sandwiches w/fries and tossed salad.

Everyone have a good afternoon, and I'll try to be back in later.  Take care and keep safe.

Good afternoon. 88 and rising in Carolina, headed for 97 or 101, depending to who you are listening to at the time. I sallied forth one of my rare outings and sortied to the barber shop. There, a pretty girl made me beautimous and loaded me down with foofoo dust and smell good. Made quite a change in me. The dogs considered biting before they recognized me....

Everyone have a great day

Now in where it feels cool....87 outside, and hot sun with humidity still here.   Just finished up another mowing, and got out my trusty "Worx" trimmer / edger and edged along the driveway and sidewalk.

Have a big round {contained}, growth of wild flowers at one corner of the back side of the house that I might get to cutting down later today.....They've been really glowing with bright yellow and purple flowers most of the Summer and lots of yellow birds come and feed from them.  The plants get rather big late in the season and they tend to lean over from their size...Have a light binder twine around them to help keep them more together and vertical.  But it's about time to cut them down.

Cosmos....I think Jean says are their identity.

Right now, it's too warm to do that.  Clean the tractor and driveway yet, then maybe the other later.  Mostly blue sky here today.

Joe, it's a pretty good place here in Muncie.  Next time you happen to be in the area and need to find a good place to eat.....It's on the north side of Muncie on the major east / west 332 route {MacGalliard Rd}, just west of Walnut St....All kinds of restaurants and businesses on that road across there....

Just "Borrowed" the laptop; after a brief, but heavy shower, the 1230 News/Weather was showing 80 degrees at Louisville International (Standiford Field) with a Dew Point of 72, and humidity at 74%,

There's supposed to be a "Charity Event" here in Louisville this weekend; a "pillow fight" for the charity; they're looking for donations of Feathers, Oops Feather Pillows!Mischief

I wonder if people who own Pit Bulls ever think about that?

We had a trace of rain on July 1st, and a trace of rain this morning, and nothing in between. Our air is smokey from wildfires which are burning 100 miles to the east. I'd sure enjoy a couple of days of good old rain!

Evening all.....

Haven't looked at the mirror lately, but sure it's warm out here in western Virginia, was in the 90s before when I delivered in Bluefield, WV.  Was supposed to go to Altoona earlier in the week, but bearings in my semi's alternator burned up, so had to divert to a shop for repairs.

Heard about one of our drivers' adventures the other day, someone in a car fell asleep and wrecked in front of him, causing him to wreck on I-81 north of Roanoke.  All concerned walked away from the wreck, but the semi is now a pile of ashes.  For those concerned, the beer survived as well, but driver of car (as well as his boss, owner of said car) is in a heap of trouble.......

See everyone later.....

One must set one's priorities!

It never got anywhere close to the weatherguess. 94 is the best it could do, at least at the jetport.

Everyone take care

It's morning!  Cool  And the heat is on.  Will be a very hot week.  Will send all of this east.  Just remember - you don't have to shovel it; no boots; no cold feet; and no falls on ice, unless an ice cube got loose.

Randy - they put in seat belts and air bags, and now they need alerters.
