Good Monday morning, everyone.  We had a good rain a little bit after 11 p.m. last night.  A couple of hours earlier, Walt and I saw some heat lightning west and to the north of us, as we were outside.  Everything is quiet this morning.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the serving station this morning:  bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, pork sausage, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, toast.

I have a busy day ahead:  getting chicken browned and into Crock Pot for Sarah's birthday supper tonight, along with taters, carrots and onion; laundry taken care of, and get another errand out of the way.  And in between, a 9:15a.m.  appointment with family doctor for my 3 month checkup.

Want to wish both Sarah and Matt K. a Very Happy Birthday, with many, many, many more to come your way!!  Happy B-Day Happy B-Day Happy B-Day Happy B-Day  And yes, there is plenty of chocolate birthday cake for everyone!!

For lunch today, there are coldcuts prepared, and in the fridge, if someone could please set them out on the serving station around noon-time for me, I'd appreciate it greatly.  Thank you!!

Everybody have a good morning, and I'll see you all sometime late afternoon.

Many good wishes to Sarah and Matt.  Sarah, do you get to work on your special day?  That might not be such a bad present after all.  Cool

Happy Birthday to Sarah and Matt! Happy B-Day

Deggesty - I can't blame you for sleeping through Omaha. There's not much to see during the day, let alone at night!

We're going to get a break from the rain for a couple of days. Omaha is up to 6 inches just since June 1st. Lots of flooding going on all across Nebraska and surrounding states.

.....Forwarding my birthday wishes to Sarah and Matt.

We have a mostly sunny morning here and plenty of temp to go with it....

Possible rain / thunderstorms forming again today....We were not much involved, but some areas of Indiana did have winds taking down trees and power lines yesterday.

Must try to trim a few more shrubs today....if the heat will allow me to....

Good morning from Carolina. 86 and sunny, headed for 99 and thunder. We had one more whizzbanger of a storm come through last night. As I understand it, there are still wires down, but all is well here.

Happy birthday to Sarah and Onionhead Kohnen. Many happy returns of the day.

Everyone take care

.....I've been in here a while now....{cooling off from shrub trimming}, and more to do, and will continue soon.  Have watched some action over on the Roanoke rail cam and looked around several places, but certainly not much action on here.

So....Guess it's back to the shrubs.

For Matt's and Sarah's birthdays, I grilled out tonight, and it is on the serving station:

1.  Burgers, cheeseburgers, fries, w/garden salad

2.  Chicken abracadbra w/carrots & onion, mashed taters and garden salad

Doctor's visit went well.  Only gained 1 pound in the last three months.  BP was up a little bit, although I couldn't get them to tell me exactly what me BP was this morning.  Also had lab work done, so hopefully sometime tomorrow, I'll know how everything is going.

Our current temp is 92, with a heat index of 101.  Official high was 94 degrees today.  Blechhhh

Happy birthday to all!

Really storming here in western Indiana. I got my report card today, and I am proud to report that I am now a Freshman! Wish I could go train watching soon. Oh well maybe later.

Good Tuesday morning, everyone.  Justin, congrats on 'graduating' to freshman status!  I know you'll do well in the coming year.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the serving/warmer station this morning:  bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, pork sausage patties, scrambled eggs, and the following fruits:  kiwi, papaya, cantaloupe, watermelon.

I sure do hope that at Produce this morning, we have it inside the gym, where it is cool (gym is air conditioned).  Then, most of us won't mind if we have to wait, because the truck is late!

Currently, we have a temp of 75 degrees, with fair skies, going for a high of 92 today.

Everyone have a good morning, and take care.

Yesterday I got soaked twice while mowing sister's yard. The sky just opened up suddenly... It is very foggy in our part of Illinois this morning. Off to Moline for doctor appointments. I don't like the real early appointments because I almost get run over by people trying not to be late for work. Have a great day.

Peace be with you. 85 and sunny in Carolina, pushing 100 and thunder later. Last night's storm didn't show up, and an investigation is planned.

Justin congrats, I reckon, on being a fresh man.  BTW, being a fresh man is a good way to getting one's face slapped!!! It's also a good way to getting punched out.  Go easy there.

Back to the wireless. Have a great day

We {Muncie area}, escaped the stormy extremes last night but certainly not the rainfall:  2.25" overnight.

But once again, there were some serious stuff in certain areas of our State.  Probably will fire up again this afternoon or evening.

Overcast {dry}, now, and it 76 degrees.  So....while it's not boiling hot, we'll do some more shrub trimming.

Afternoon all. CW, thanks for a delicious supper!

Today was so hot, and steamy! The worse news is that our local bank had an attempted robbery, and one of the convicts was a juvenile. Oh well life still goes on. I helped my Grandpa pick 4 buckets full of Gooseberries. That was fun. Have a good evening all!

Good Wednesday morning, everyone.  We had more storms come thru last night.  I think all we managed to get was rain, a little rumble of thunder, but never saw any lightning.   About 9 p.m., we gathered together, and watched the newest Sly Stalone Rambo.  That is a pretty good movie!

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the serving station this morning:  bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, pork sausage patties, scrambled eggs, made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits w/milk gravy w/bits of sausage in it.

Everyone have a good morning, and I'll see you all later on this morning.

Started my day at 0500 today, driving an expectant mother (in labor) to the hospital.  Happened to be my daughter-in-law, since my son was working.  Five hours later (10:16) grandchild #3 was born.  Mom and child (and dad) doing well.  Papa is worn out by entertaining a two-year-old all morning, but his relief has her right now...

Time for a little rest and a consideration of what the evening will bring.

.4" in rain gauge for the overnight.  Should be the last of the stormy weather firing up each afternoon / evening, for the past 3 or 4 days.  High pressure taking over now for several days.

Bright sunshine in much clearer skies today, meaning lower humidity too.  River thru our fair city is still high, but not too much flooding in our area.  Some areas, very much so.

Wow. Kinda quiet in here today, 80 and overcast in Carolina this afternoon. It has only gone up 2 degrees since 4 AM, but heavy weather and thunder is expected later and tomorrow.

A few check ins since I started this missive. Congrats to Grampaw Larry

A second night of no thunderstorms that had been predicted. The governors office is promising to look into it!

Tom:  Looks like you need to head north and east to get wet.  We just had a stray shower.  Very stray!  Poured for about 3 min and now clear and sunny!

Whatever you do, don't send it this way.  We're trying to dry out after the last week.  Beautiful clear blue sky and 77 degrees here- can't wait to get out of here (work) and enjoy it.

Oh, and congrats, Grandpa Larry!

We got back home Monday night after a pleasant trip from Denver on the California Zephyr (cool in Denver--and snow after going under James Peak). It was late arriving in Denver because of high water around Lincoln (not due to Mookie's tears, I hopeSmile. I hope to finish unpacking tomorrow; it takes a while to get through five weeks of mail (mostly catalogs).

We had a great time, seeing old places--living, visiting, schools, relatives and such, and riding trains (CZ, Capitol Service, Coast Starlight, Empire Builder (Portland section), Cardinal, Capitol Limited, Empire Builder (Portland section), Coast Starlight, Sunset Limited, CIty of New Orleans, City of New Orleans, CZ, and CZ).

It was warm here yesterday, and a cold front came in this afternoon so that we will have a day or two of cool weather.

Evening all.....

Sitting on the WI/IL state line, tomorrow will be going to New Glarus to unload, then somewhere else afterward.  Right now, listening to a Johnny Dollar marathon on Radio Classics, channel 118 on my Sirius radio.  Have gotten hooked on the old-time radio shows, lot better than the stuff on nowadays.

Congrats, Larry, on the new grandchild.

See everyone later.....

I'm happy to hear your trip was a success! As much as I love riding the train, I don't think I'll be following in your footsteps anytime soon. That's too many trains even for me!

Mookie - That little shower earlier was just a warm-up/test run for the big show I plan to put on tomorrow evening. Evil

Willy:  You are getting a little sloppy.  I saw all the rain in Kansas and some of it dribbled over the state line into Lincoln.  Neatness counts!

Looks to me like what is coming out of the 4 corners (which is where a lot of our bad weather comes from) is going to by-pass us and beat up Kansas (again) and Iowa (again).

Straight west into Wyo/Colo - that will all go north and attack probably northern NE and ......Omaha!  Mischief

And if some little noxious storm does happen to wander into the neighborhood, we will just pull our lid over our bowl and stay out of trouble.  Approve

I'm so frazzled from physics that I can't even see straight, let alone place my thunderstorms neatly!

Woe to the people of Lincoln on the day that their lid fails!
