Surprised nobody showed up for dinner tonight, I was in and out at various times tonight.  Has been an ugly day in our area, a 15-year old walked into his school with a pistol and shotgun, and shot and killed his principal.  The man did, however, manage to wrestle the gun away from him, preventing any further casulties.  Story has been on the news most of the day, is pretty sad, was supposed to be their homecoming weekend, all events were canceled, had a prayer vigil instead of a football game tonight.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family (he left behind a wife and three kids).

Not too much else new around here, has been cool and wet the last few days, supposed to warm up and get to near 80 come Monday, though.

See everyone later.

I think stuff like this is happening too much in our schools. My deepest sympathies are with the family of the principal, and the family of this 15 year old kid, I can only imagine the emotional torment that they are going through right now. I have mixed feelings about this kid and I can't help but feel that he has wasted his own life, flushed it down the toilet.

From where I am sitting, it is 52 degrees here and it looks like it's shaping up to be a pretty nice day. It is supposed to warm up to about 75 or 76 degrees here this afternoon. I'm getting ready to go in to work for my part time employer.........I'll have to stop in at the Diner and grab some breakfast first. I'll be back for pzza tonight.Dinner [dinner]

Coffee is on, juice is made, and breakfast is on the warmer bar:

bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits, sausage gravy, grits, cream of wheat,
and there are doughnuts and bagels on the counter.

Everyone have a good day, be careful out there, whatever you have planned
for today, and be back at 7 p.m. EDT for the SATURDAY PIZZA FEST.

Well Randy, at least YOU came into the diner!!

Did hear about the principal.  So very sad, and my thoughts and prayers are with his
family (both personal family and school family).  May he rest in peace.

Joe, be sure to take one of the quarter sheet cake birthday cakes out of the freezer, to take for
Grandpa's birthday tomorrow.  And here's your take out for work tonight.

For everyone else, have a fresh batch of fish in the fryers, along with fries in the other two fryers.

Have plenty of the sides for tonight, also.

Dangit!! I wish I saw that post earlier because I probably would've been up early enough to see it even though there's no school (had band practice during conferences). I presume that if it went over Lincoln at 6:33 it'd go over the Omaha area sometime earlier?

OK - he went from being a flower to an eye doctor (see Tree's posting) to a cattle person!  And he signs his postings as a dentist!

That's enough for me.  I am going home for the weekend to ponder all this!

Well, as it's Friday, I'm preparing the first batches of fish for our Friday Fish Fry.

The fish on the menu today are:  catfish, cod, halibut, perch, rainbow trout; will
aslo have some salmon and tuna on the inside counter George Foreman grill.
We'll also have the usual sides of fries, hushpuppies, and cole slaw.

Desserts today:  chocolate cake, chocolate cream pie, yellow cake w/caramel
icing, and white cake w/white frosting.

For anyone not wanting fish, there is Italian spaghetti w/garlic Texas toast and
garden or Caesar salad.

You guys wouldn't want to make a short excursion over to Boone, would you?  It's about halfway between us, with some nice attractions (Kate Shelley, B&SV), and we might even get a couple more forum members to join the fun there (jeffhergert comes to mind).

An excursion to Boone depends entirely on what Mookie and the other "forum elders"Wink [;)]have to say, but I have been to Boone in the past. The Kate Shelley bridge and the Boone Scenic Railroad really are impressive. I especially liked the Chinese steamer they use on the Boone Scenic.

I just can't wait for next Saturday!!!!
