Our supper of pork chop abracadbra w/ "smashed" taters is now ready. Also have
some green beans and mac & cheese to go with it.

Everybody must like the birthday cake: I see that 1/4 of the sheet cake is missing!!
That's good. Want everybody to have at least one slice of Joe's birthday cake.

Hmmmmm, does anyone else have a June birthday? Enquiring minds want to know!!

Got nice and muggy here this afternoon after a cool and cloudy start. Joe's thunderstorms are headed more or less in this direction - we'll have to see if they make it this far north. As long as the weekend is reasonable.

Looks like the hammock is drying out.

Good Friday morning, everyone. Not sure if I'm late or not: ISP was acting up, and
didn't want to let me on!!

Coffee is on, and juice is made. We've got orange, apple, and orange/tangerine.

Breakfast this morning: all different kinds of doughnuts, and muffins.

Weather report: we've got that confounded rain coming our way again: from the
south this morning, if I'm remembering the weather map correctly. It's so warm
and humid here this morning.

Anybody hear anything about terrorist threats this morning, for Miami and Chicago?
Woke up to the local news stations talking about that this morning. Not sure about
the location in Miami, but they were talking about the Sears Tower in Chicago.

Appears that it may not have been specific (ie, this day, that time), but the beginnings of the plot....

Rain didn't get this far north last night, although I did see some lightning off in the distance. The river could use it - the people who control the level miscalculated and it's lower than most would like it. On the other hand, I saw evidence in a hay field of a tractor getting stuck in a wet spot, and that's not normal for this time of year, either...

OJ and a blueberry muffin, SVP.

News was the FBI arrested a bunch of people in Miami who were alleged members of a fundamentalist Islamic group that was planning terrorist attacks for those locations.

Morning Everyone,

Had some big time storms yesterday. Did get a couple tornadoes to drop. Unfortunately they did a little damage to a home under construction, but fortunately no one was injured. Didn't get to go chasing yesterday, but we shall see what today brings (though it looks like the severe weather will probably be way out northeast and into Nebraska...watch out Mook!).

Meanwhile, I finally have gotten the whole of the Yellowstone trip up. The pictures, complete with comments are up at:

http://www.pbase.com/copcarss/yellowstone_06

If you guys and girls get a chance, would love to know what you think. Also, it might be nice to have my pictures get a couple page hits (currently, the pictures Chad sent me to host that Ed took of the Chinese steamers are by far and away generating the most page clicks).

Well, must be on my way. Hope you all have a great day!

TTFN!

Chris

Chris - Ah - "The Eye of the Beholder"?

Joe - Heard that - hadn't gotten to my map yet to see where it all is.

No rain, no tornados - just humidity and in the 80's today. (for both)

This is kind of nuts but 53 degrees here on this almost midsummer morning. Going up to low 70's with sunshine today and same thing tomorrow. Totally amazing as not only does the weather fall in place for two days of long planned railfanning, but the AC stays off and I may actually be able to now afford the activity.

For just about everybody else, I guess it is stay dry, get wet or find a cooler spot in the shade, whichever would meet your needs.

Mookie; was hoping that you would have "dryed" out by now,if not,
you may be resembling Family Circus for today! [yeah]

Joe; don't have any Advil around here;will Naproxen (generic Aleve) work?
That's about the only thing that seems to work for us against 'ole Arthur'[:D]

Chris; finally figured out (I think) and left a comment in your guestbook.[:)]

Good Morning All

Man I would . . . l o v e . . .some 50s at night time and 70s for day time highs. The electric company would not like it, BUT I WOULD. [;)] I could go for all summer long that way. [:)] <Wishful thinking>

Poor kitty, must have not seen the newly installed pet dryer yet.

On the other hand, I think the chicken should stay away from it. Chickens and heat usually do not fair well together. [B)]

Well I slept late this morning. That is something Duchess usually does not let me do. Remind me to give her a special treat today. [;)]

Today is Tuesday/Friday. Yuck Yuck. [B)] I like Monday/Friday must better. [:)]

The people who usually give me trace info are not available right now. But last night just before midnight the steam engines were just south of the Ft. Worth area.

I can not believe that no one has seen them and posted any shots of their journey on rails (sort of anyway). [:D] I am trying, with help of course, to keep everyone posted as to where they are. Anyway help is appreciated.

Everyone Take Care

And for their free meals today, since it's Friday, fish is on the menu: You have your
choice of: cod, perch, haddock, trout, and catfish. We've also got the prerequisite
fries, slaw, and, if anyone wants them, hushpuppies.

Dessert today: I've been busy making oatmeal cookies, and there's plenty of them,
along with about 1/4 sheet cake of Joe's birthday cake from yesterday.

Rain hasn't come in yet; if anyone's getting anything right now, it's sprinkles. As far
as I'm concerned, it can just keep sprinkling, or maybe a nice, gentle rain would be
much appreciated. We sure don't need any more severe stuff thrown at us. Good
thing, though, is it's keeping the temps down, so far. Our high today is to be only
84 degrees.

Clovis, NM. Back in 1979. Visited my brother who lived there at the time. He had been
stationed at Cannon AFB, was out of the Air Force at that time. Only time I've gone two
weeks without any sinus problems.

Supper tonight: just got through deep frying more fish and hushpuppies, and made
some more slaw and fries. And if anyone doesn't want more fish for supper, I've got
beef pasta on the menu, also.

HI everyone how is everyone tonight well my day was going fine until about 1hr ago. I had the chance of a life time to see the 261 go by at full steam but they had to wait for the wonderful mayor of milwaukee to get down to the station so that. Delayed the train by 10 minutes and of course my luck then really went down the hill when the train was coming around the bend the feight train had just started to cross going the other way and of course it had to be a long train. But on the happy side it will be coming back though at about 8:30 tonight. So maybe I can get back down there and get to see it again which would make me very happy.
