Hey everybody guess what I get to do on Monday?? I FINALLY GET TO GO BACK TO WORK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [:D] Same line of work ( diesel engine mechanic ) but new company, Valley Power Products out of City of Industry Ca.. They have opened a store in W. Sacramento Ca. It's about a 45min commute but the way I'll go there will be no traffic. I'll be working on a lot of exotic diesels that nobody wants to play with, one is from Austria and is about the size of an EMD. I might even get a 3wk all expence paid trip to Austria to attend a school on them.[:D][8D] We will also will work on EMD stationary and marine applications.

As for my finger and hand, the finger will never work again [:(!] but my hand is slowly getting stronger.[:)] So wish me luck and I'll be thinking about all of you since I'll be only 100' from the mainline between Sacramento and Oakland.

Joe, we're supposed to be in "freezer" in a day or two, according to what I
read in today's paper. finally went back to sleep somewhere around
7 a.m. Hope I manage to sleep tonight.

As promised, dinner/supper will be fried chicken, mashed potatoes,
green beans, biscuits, gravy (to put over potatoes), and corn on the cob.

Dessert will be: cobblers (apple, cherry and peach). And have plenty
of ice cream in the freezer to put on top of the cobblers.

Well, it's 1:59 a.m. Sunday morning, and I can't sleep. This doesn't happen
to me very often. Guess I'll start a pot of coffee, and start making up
biscuits for breakfast, since I'm the only one in here. At least I have all the
train layouts on to keep me company. Walt is sound asleep, and so are
the cats and dog. [V]

Normally I do, but I was busy all day and as of the time on this post I am about ready to hit the sack. The neat thing about retirement is you can sleep all day and still collect a check everry month.

Locomutt and I just finished eating some chicken fried rice for supper.
Our meal of it got postponed until tonight. Sure was good: we haven't
had it for awhile.

Morning everyone! Looks like it's going to be a cloudy, gloomy day here.
Let's get some Christmas music playing to cheer us, the layouts running,
and I'm starting breakfast:

Turkey bacon, sausage patties, biscuits & sausage gravy, scrambled and fried eggs,
fried potatoes, and pancakes with syrup, and grits for those who like them.

Mloik, we often have fried chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans,
corn on the cob. We'll have that Sunday in the diner!! A great big mess (country
talk for a LOT of chicken, and the sides) so everyone gets their fill. You'll have
to tune in Sunday morning to see what will be for dessert[}:)][:)]

Gosh, do I remember going to Eaton's and Simpson's around the holiday time and seeing the various scales of model railroads and slotcars that they would have set-up in the toy department.

Am I hallucinating, or do any of the other Canadians on the forum remember this?
