Randy,about the weatherman;doesn't look out of window enough;
OH WAIT,I forgot, most news/weather staions don't have windows for their
people to look out of !

Kevin,Welcome back, try not to stay away so long.

Carl,we made it to 95 yesterday, with high humidity, today is supposed to be
about as bad, with a supposed respite coming in tommorow,Already starting
this morning at about 75 degrees, with humidity to match.
(I didn't quite make it to midnight last night, but we were about same temp.,or a bit higher than you mentioned. Sorta makes it hard to go to sleep.

Thanks, Cher--the salad was greatly appreciated!

And the limeade was the crowning touch!

(Still 80 degrees outside here, at midnight. We got sprinkled a little bit this evening, but it didn't help matters much.)

We've got you beat here in Iowa. It just went UP today to $2.19 a gallon for the ethanol blend (subsidized). And if I'm not mistaken I just earned a star.

Apple or cherry? Tough choice. Flip a coin and surprise me- they're both scrumptious.[:)]

Well, the weatherman was wrong again..... Why does this not surprise me??

Most stations were predicting storms this evening. Well, around 10:30 this morning, we got a storm that knocked out the 3-phase electric power at work for about 15 minutes. [sigh]

CW, I'll take a dinner plate to go, and we'll take a slice of Joe's cherry pie for dessert. I appreciate it, thanks in advance.

Sarah, I think things are a little more relaxed on the Diner thread. As long
as it's not bad, i.e., bad mouthing someone, etc., whatever we say is o.k. Like
being in a REAL diner, instead of a virtual one!!

Joe, I'll take a small slice of both apple and cherry pie, please. Maybe with a
little bit of ice cream over it. [dinner]

Carl, I've got a spinach salad w/real bacon bits and eggs in it ready for you.

Coburn 35, and everyone else: fried chicken w/garlic mashed potatoes is
ready, also.

Mudchicken, have to relate a story about our cat, Virginia Chessie (VC) to
you: the first time Mutt brought home some chicken fried rice for me, VC
immediately jumped up in my lap, and tried to steal my chicken fried rice
from me. I was literally attacked by the cat: she really, really wanted
my supper that night, instead of her own.

Got some interesting news today from my dr. appointment: I have shrunk
two inches: so I'm now 4' 5" instead of 4' 7". Oh well, facts of life, I suppose.

That happened on the Model Railroader forums a few weeks ago. Wasn't a pretty sight; caused a huge flame war between four or five members, including me. That wasn't fun...[V]

A tall, cold glass of Diet Dew would dew me just fine now. It's 91 and sticky outside--fortunately the sky is gray, with no direct sun.

Cher, could a spinach salad, with bacon bits (real or faux) and eggs, be arranged? I think that's probably all the supper I'll be wanting.

Tomorrow is supposed to be cooler here, with thunderstorms to mark the passage of the front. Maybe I should bike to work anyway, just to assure that the rain will fall!

My wife works at her "hobby shop" (a fabric store), and one of the perks there is a 20-percent employee discount. If you had a hobby shop that granted similar favors to its employees, it would make the combination (shopping and working there) mighty desirable!

The legal working age here in Maryland is 14 years old, but, you need to be lucky to find a job that will hire that young.

I went for my interview today, and I practically have a job. I need to call the manager before the end of the week to tell her when I can start. I didn't take it right away, because I am also expecting a call from Bose Stereos. I talked with the Bose manager, and he said that if I am selected, I should be called soon. If I don't here from them today, I'll call Bose tomorrow, and see what's up, and if they don't want me, KB HERE I COME!

MC, your caffiene IV drip is ready. Just stick out your arm and I'll see if I can find a vein...

Working in a hobby shop wouldn't be too bad - especially if I got to work mostly with the stuff I liked best. Several members of our local model RR club got together to buy our local hobby store when the owner retired. One can occasionally find them there, when the regular help is off, or if they want to hang around someplace other than where they have their modular layout set up...
