I've "melted" a few styrofoam containers from take out food, and
burned popcorn several time;but I guess my best one,was putting
a coffe cup that had a 'gold foil' band around the lip of the cup. It made
quite a bit of popping and cracking noises, but I don't think that I've
blown any thing up,YET in a microwave.

Jordan6,not sure I'd want to melt a CD in the microwave,it screws up
their aerodynamics too much when you want to use them as mini-frisbies.[:-,][swg]

Put a CD disk in the microwave, with the label down. Set it for 5 to 8 seconds. It's cool!! (make sure it's one you don't want to listen to anymore) those free AOL disks work great too.

P.S. Does not harm you or your microwave, just the cd. (from personal experience many times over)

Is everyone enjoying the lasagna, garlic toast and salad? Sure hope so. Spent
quite a bit of time making enough to have for the lunch crowd and the
dinner crowd tonight.

Sarah, guess there are some more of us who have put something in the micro-
wave, and had that happened, one time or another. I remember one time, I put
a sandwich from a fast food place, in the microwave to warm up. Didn't realize
that the wrapper was foiled-lined[:I]

Actually, Quintin, you can "fry" it in the microwave: just put the bologna on a paper
towel, and zap it for about 35-40 seconds. That's what I do. That way, you have a
heated slice of bologna, and the grease is on the paper towel.

Since it is now about time for lunch, here's the lunch/dinner menu for today:

lasanga w/garlic toast, and garden salad.

Mmmmmm,lasagna[dinner].

I think CW is going to crack up over what I am about to say right now.
Today at lunch on my job I blew up a hot dog and I metalted plastic today in the microwave. It was hallarious (spelling). Everyone was sitting around the table then allof a sudden everyone heard this BOOM and PoP! Man I turned some heads today. But, I'm pretty proud of myself because, I've never been able to blow up anything in the mirco before so I should say that that was a mission (that I didn't plan) accomplished.

I also found out that the expected 154 families comming up from New Orleans (spelling) didn't happen, only 33 families were present. Philadelphia set up this new program to help the victums of Katrina. Many of the families didn't want to travel that far north so most of them ended up in Texas. I do have to say that some of the citizes in Philly are annoyed over the fact that the mayor John Street decided to provide this shelter and security for Katrina victums when all along the city had the money to help it's own poor or homeless people struggling to make it. I worry about the Street administration quite frankly I don't like Mayor Street.

No; my professors can't figure out what their major malfunction is either. You tell by listening to the professors decribe the administration and the rest of the useless folk there, that the professors are convinced they are smoking crack. BTW If I have any spelling mistakes, it's because I'm dead tired-just thought I would explain that before you acknowledged the irony of a college student that can't spell correctly-too tired to proof read properly.

Ah - you are too nice - lasagne and salad will be a big hit with the driver - hope it makes it home so he can enjoy it. Have a fork in my "pocket".....

Hey Mookie, take some of the lasagna and salad home with you, for you and
the Driver. That way, neither one of you will have to cook tonight!

In case anyone's noticed that I'm not talking much today: can't. With
my allergies, my voice has been scratchy for a week now, and now my
voice has decided to "leave the building".

I remember having fried luncheon meat as a lunch in high school on occasion. I don't remember what it was fried in (chili sauce?), but it tasted great to me!

Too hot here for lasagna, but I'll go with the salad again. Thanks, Cher!

I just heard a sigh from the kitten. If the lasagna perked her up, she (and her brother) might be related to Garfield!

Quintin, I get the Field brand, their extra thick sliced bologna. That way, you
don't have to take about two or three slices to make a good sandwich.

A favorite summer lunch for one of my uncles was a lettuce sandwich - numerous leaves of fresh-from-the-garden leaf lettuce, with a good dollop of mayo, and in the middle a nice thick slice of balogna (custom sliced by the grocer - none of this stuff from the package). No, I didn't mention bread. Who needs it?

Have to stop in for a quick supper tonight - memorial ceremony and open house at the fire training center on Sunday, and I have to put finishing touches on the HO scale incident command simulator I've been refurbishing. Like any model railroad, it'll never actually be "done," but it does have to be presentable...

Hmmm, how's about some "fried" bologna for breakfast? Along with our
usual breakfast fare of sausage, biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, and
cereal w/fresh fruit.

Mook may not like the noise, but I'll bet she'd come back! There's always a day-long barbecue going on behind there, too!
