Rainy day here, but warm for late November. Wet retarders will not be fun at work. Thankfully, we're in a post-holiday lull, so we might be able to take things easy.

I'll be there with the family. After three days off of cooking duty, I'm resisting return to the routine. Not resisting TOO much though. Folks in this house tend to get a little touchy when meals don't come up in a timely manner.

roast beef, potatoes, carrots, green beans, cole slaw and nice, hot dinner
crescent rolls right out of the oven.

For dessert: pumpkin cake w/white icing/frosting (tastes like a spice cake).
Also have the first batch of Christmas cookies made.

I had fallen for a girl in college but we had a disagreement. I later found out that somebody had been telling a bunch of crap about me making look like a loonitic. I know she cares about me but she has the wrong impression about me now. What should I do?

Managed to fit a little trainwatching into my vacation today, and DIL turned out some excellent corn chowder, to which I added some scratch-made biscuits. They're gonna charge me extra for the trip home, I can see that now....

Saw a Cascades Talgo, Amtrak (haven't figured out which one yet) and a stack train with a BN green FURX in the lead. Was at dinner last night at a nice little Italian place right next to the same main. Three trains went by while were were there, but I figured it would be rude to jump up and run out.....

Brunch on the "Spirit of Washington" Dinner Train Sunday morning. Wish I was in the cab, but the ride promises to be nice...

Gotta go sleep off some of this delicious food!

Good evening all- I spent most of the day getting STARTED at putting up the Christmas lights, followed by getting STARTED at cleaning up the leaves in my backyard. Someday, hopefully before deep snow and/or Christmas arrives, I'll get both jobs DONE!

I'll take whatever you got for pizza tonight, I'm too hungry to be picky.

Jim, I make all kinds of pizza, and set them out on the warmer bar: sausage,
pepperoni, cheese, vegeterian, hamburger, specials, supreme, pineapple,
whatever you want, you'll most likely find on the pizza. (Although if anyone
want's anchovies, they're probably out of luck: I don't do anchovies.)

Mudchicken, Mutt knows whoBuddy LaRosa is. I never heard of him down here in
Louisville, and haven't been in Cincinnati much, at all. But I'm sure if I ever get to
eat one of his pizzas, I'll be in pizza heaven.

Well good eveing to all well the temps have dropped off again last I checked it was 34 degrees outside which is not to bad it could be 10 degrees and 25 below zero but anywho tomorrow is going to be in the 50's with rain showers and all of the snow we got yesterday shall be gone by monday but anywho. Mudchicken, our temp today is to get back up into the mid to upper 50s. It's
no wonder so many people around here are sick (my sister being one of
them)! Talked to her yesterday, and she sounds horrible.

Saturday brunch is now being served: turkey bacon, sausages, biscuits &
sausage gravy, country ham w/redeye gravy, choice of fried taters or hash
browns, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, toast.

Evening all....

Had a good thanksgiving, went to an aunt's house in town, after picking up my grandmother. Had four generations in the house, we got a kick out of my cousin's two-year-old "helping" around the kitchen.

After changing the oil in my truck today (note to self, move oil inside to warm up before changing so it doesen't flow like corn syurp), decided to check out the CN line from Burlington to around Prospect Heights, IL, mainly to look at their double- and triple-tracking projects and new stations. I came to the conclusion that I will have to take a few round trips on Metra once service increases to take it all in and get more field notes for a Train Dispatcher 3.5 simulator territory.

On the way home, the snow started falling, and by the time I got across the state line, the roads were pretty well covered, and I never got above about 45mph the rest of the way home, and used the 4WD on my truck as a precaution a few times to keep the truck straight, but made most of the journey home in 2WD.

The turkey dinner was great, CW, loved all of it. See everyone later.

Yeah, Quintin, we're supposed to have temps back up close to the 50s
tomorrow.

Guess you all guessed that there were leftovers for lunch and supper
tonight. Hope everyone who went visiting relatives today make it safely
back home tonight. Did some more baking this evening: sugar cookies.
some have red sprinkles on them, and some have cinnamon sugar
sprinkled on them. Both are very, very goooood!! Guess that's about it

Can't believe I hit the top of two consecutive pages!

My sister was giving me the horror stories of whiteouts and closed highways in Michigan, so I'm glad we didn't go. According to Pat's brother they had some weather, but not too much accumulation. It probably was worse further south.

Plenty of business at work today, so the decision to keep us working was the sensible (notice I didn't say "right") one.
