.....Last night, I did get the black screen, and the word "buffering", and it wouldn't go to a live shot, but this morning, it's doing fine for me.

It seems to me like traffic has slacked off quite a bit in Roanoke . I go to the web cam at all different times of the day and night , so it`s not just one time in the day . Has anyone else noticed this ?         RON

Our spider should be coming out of hibernation soon and building new webs over the camera lens again. .   RON

....Cannonball, just a comment on the leafing of the trees this season there...I noted the bigger trees across the tracks were behind our trees here in Muncie in getting green this year...Kind of strange, as they are somewhat south of us.

And the smaller trees on this side of the street, just pushed out leaves  3 or 4 days ago....Seemed almost over night.  I had been wondering about them, and one morning, they were green.

Old photos would be interesting of that area....it sure looks like some of the visible area was part of a passenger loading area back when....

Question Whistling  Good Morning ,  I noticed all the trees are  leafed out at and across the street. No rail traffic at 8:00 mst. here . ~~ What the subject is about is , are there any photos of the street and buildings   taken in the 20s. & 30s. to be found and if or where to be seen??

...Semper:

The link I use for this web site is perhaps the one widely used...I can't tell you it's I D.

On the warning...I never have seen that before....I clicked on the warning and it spread it all the way across my screen.  It's message was something on the order of, web sites of this type can cause....what ever, etc....Well, it's not been causing any unwanted problems for me in the time we've been watching it.

I ignored it and clicked, and the site came up in it's usual fast process.

But no trains....Guess I can't blame that on this nonsense.

Which link did you use (of the 3 that have been listed in this thread in the past)?  And what was that warning?  Did it come from your Malware defence programs, or from the browser?

I have heard that some ISPs will issue a warning that viewing a live video stream can use up all of a subscribers allowable bandwidth (or total number of bytes they can get per month for the price they are paying), but I'd think that is a very rare occurance these days.

When the two better of the links was down, the connection via trains (the 1 frame per second link) was working.

Just saw a caboose go by that I have not seen before... naturally I wasn't prepared to capture an image of it!  It had a white "NW" on the side between the windows, below the coupola.  The side was in need of a good painting to fix what appeared to be water stains.

....I just opened it at 12:27 and it did come right up...but, a warning was presented of possible danger with this link....etc..???

I think it was late in the afternoon yesterday when I watched two different movements with each having a couple of slugs. One of the movements was around 8 locomorives only. Always interesting to see something a little different.. Tom

Smile   The "cam"  shows a group of white autos . Could they be Dealer demos intown for a show??  The past 2 days there has been MOW folks  working at the signal bridge up to the  auto bridge. Any thoughts on this?

I have not watched for a long time, but today I decided to check it out several times... I saw the same number of trains as when I was not watching.  yeah, I'd say traffic is lower than normal.

....I've had off and on connections with this cam in the past week, but just now we took a look, and found a train going each direction.  So, all's well for now.

Big Smile  WOW !! at8:35 mst saw a little red caboose pulling a small string of oil cans and 3 locos bringing up the rear.  The little caboose must have some super tractive effort.

So much for the Sunday "funnys"

Cannonball:

Years ago, some power was installed in the "Tender wheels", so I suppose the Caboose deserves to have some tractive effort too....

I quite agree Ron.  This is a superb cam as far as I am concerned: I look most mornings, around dawn ET (around miday here) presently just to see what the waether is likein VA. Wink  It is, of course, a great bonus to witness a train passing through.  I check in to the cam a couple of times later in the day.

Right now I am wondering who it is that is who is digging up Norfolk Avenue.

j610

I used to get frustrated when the cam went down . Then I realized that we are fortunate to have someone provide this service free of charge . All electronic items have their bad days and I need to be patient as the cam is not the hotel`s top priority .      RON
