Good luck to you... as others have stated..get as much education as possible and keep those doors open...just in case you change your mind by the time you're 21. Things change so fast that technology and railroading will be much different in ten or twenty years ...

If you're going into the job with that attitude, be prepared for immense disappointment. Believe me, this job challenges even the most devoted RRer. Or what happens if you get injured and can't work anymore (happens to more than a few)? Or something happens and you get fired. Or they go one man crews and lay off half the work force?
You still have plenty of years to think about it.
