I own a freight business and have been employed in transportation (mostly trucking) since 1988. My hobbies include watching trains, HO scale model railroads, reading (I enjoy classic fiction), history, cycling, hiking, and amateur astronomy. Trains have been a central theme in my life since I was a kid...I became interested in all things railroad when I was 6 or 7 years old, and my earliest memories are of watching CPR trains from a park in Sherbrooke, QC. Although I've never worked for a railroad, my interest in railroads has led me to a career in transportation. My education includes a BSc degree in mathematics from Concordia University in Montreal, and over the years I've continued my education, mostly to remain current with developments in technology and transportation. I am also a licensed pilot, and was, for a brief time, Canada's youngest licensed pilot when I was 14 years old. My goals include growing my business and finding the time to do other things...I want to cycle across Canada with my kids when they're older, build my dream model railroad, and do some more travelling. I am married and have two children, my son Sasha was born in 2002, and my daughter Katrina was born in 2005.
