The NS president fished in the gunny sack over his shoulder, figuring that a little music might 'soothe the savage ***'. "Pies are on the dollar menu at McDonalds," he said to Maverty, "what's their current jingle? I don't understand their current 'ethnic' pitches. Whatever happened to 'Have it your way... have it your way?' That's such a formative influence on my management style..."

"I'd expect that kind of thinking from Norfolk Southern -- that's a Burger King slogan, not McDonald's" said Maverty. "McDonald's got a wild hair about making every order fresh every time, and their service at ru***imes looks like Union Pacific's." The two execs shared a short belly laugh at the expense of Uncle Pete.

By this time, the guitar had been extracted, and with a few short strums it was in tune. "Requests, anyone?" There was a voice from the crowd --

just as David Goode, dressed in a hunting cap, arrived trackside, closely followed by Hike Maverty... the nitrous oxide was getting kinda thick. "Wook", said Goode, "wabbit twacks ... huh huh huh huh huh."

Ward suddenly grabbed Goode by the lapels and smacked him a wet one on the kisser, then lit out down the ballast, disappearing in the thickening exhaust from the floating GEs. Maverty looked at Goode: "Which way did he go George? Which way did he go."

"Awwww shuddup" said Goode. "And anyway I'm not George -- HE's George." He pointed with a large fluorescent 'safety' hand, a new NS switching idea borrowed from the NFL. Somewhat cross-eyed, Maverty followed the wobbling foam finger, to see

Michael Moore following filming crazed rabbits in the moorish meres . . .
"There is nothing in life that compares with running a locomotive at 80-plus mph with the windows open, the traction motors screaming, the air horns fighting the rush of incoming air to make any sound at all, automobiles on adjacent highways trying and failing to catch up with you, and the unmistakable presence of raw power. You ride with fear in the pit of your stomach knowing you do not really have control of this beast." - D.C. Battle [Trains 10/2002 issue, p74.]

"We're not wabbits, we're RABBITS" the angry bunnies chanted, "whatever that Elmer Fudd Cinderdick seems to think!" Leaving the cab, they formed a threatening gray mass moving toward the CSX engine -- where they were met by csxengineer with his trusty sidearm and CSXrules4Eva with her trusty Kimber. As Michael Moore filmed the proceedings

A single CSX locomotive backed up 20 or so flatcars underneath the now lifted train and the train dropped onto the flatcars and the CSX loco began to pull away when all of a sudden...

the train began to lift off the rails, I mean just strait up in the air! And it stopped and hovered about 25 ft off the ground and jsut stayed there. No one knew what to do, and people began talking amongst themselves as to what could have happened to make it lift. Well they were talking, when all of a sudden...

Monopoly! He waved at the train, his tuxedo gleaming in comparison to the somber railroad scene. His gloved hand moved and mythically, without regard to railroad rules and regulation, the signal changed. The only wabbit who was awake throttled up to notch 8 and the train began to move...right back in front of the trains.com forum convention special! Then the oddest thing happened...

Meanwhile, the weasels hed returned with thier friends, a pack of wolves. The wolves promptly dispatched the wabbits. Then the weasels climbed on the train and got things going again. In a coupleof days, things were back to normal... well, as close to normal as things get on the UP.Until they came to the next signal...

Then they heard that the first reefer was a carload of carrots. They got the car open and soon every Wabbit in the state converged on the train.Meanwhile the train was tying up the mainline, and since this was single track, the whole railroad came to a screeching halt[:0]!
