Will somebody PLEASE send moisture (white stuff or water) before we blow away again!!! Mookie has thought for some time that the middle of the country - with it's lack of moisture and really bone-chilling cold for extensive periods of time (like November to March) is fast becoming the desert of the nation. We are getting less and less moisture each year and our winters have been quite balmy. The snow we do manage to get it quite dry and unlike Colorado - we have a head start with our own sand pile up north. MC? Any thoughts?

Eventually, we will be like California with desert (Nebraska) Mountains (Colorado) and all the horrible blizzards and awful weather we always had, will shift to the east. California will not be needed any more, so, of course, will fall in the ocean.... [:(] Mookie

QUOTE: Originally posted by zardoz QUOTE: Originally posted by kevinstheRRman -40 You can't beat -40!!! I've always wondered, how does one deal with that cold a temp? How does the car start? Does the fuel in your car or the trains gel? Does the furnace ever shut off? If you have to pee when outside, does it freeze before it hits the ground? Are you saddled with a bazillion pull-aparts on the rails? p.s. Is that -40 Celsius or Fahrenheit [;)]

Furnace has been out for a week (power outage - bad snowstorm in middle Oct.) - you survive, altho the dog darn near got a hernia trying to sleep between her master and mistress and have only tried not to "go" in the wind, not the cold.
