?Steam engine going through/near Twin Cities soon????

I was half  asleep when my radio came on and a caller said a steam engine was going through or near the Twin Cities, possibly on the UP. Anyone know? Is  there such a website that gives updates on movements of steam engines?

Well the CP #2816 4-6-4 Hudson is currently in the Twin Cities.  It is scheduled to pull a doubleheader with the Milw #261 on Saturday Sept 15th.  I believe the UP #844 is out and running but it is in the Texas area I think.

2816 ran today from Shoreham Yard, through New Brighton and Osceola, to Dresser where it turned and ran back through the same points.

The doubleheader on the 15th will depart Shoreham as well, but will head the other way through St. Paul through Dayton's Bluff and Pigs Eye to the La Crosee/La Cresant area down the Mississippi River. If you have a chance to go see this train, do it, as this is going to be quite a event. I know I've seen it 3 separate days when in was in Chicago but I'd really like to see this doubleheader. There is a chance I may be going on vacation to the Dells next weekend, so I'll be 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours away from La Cresant so there is a chance, but we will see.

Actually the train ran west to Glenwood yard today, not sure if they made it, around noon, I found the train sitting in the siding west of South Haven MN, there was a broken rail on the main ahead of it.
