For Amtrak, Newark Penn is just under an hour away.
For commuter, there are several NJT stations within 20 minutes. Mount Olive, Netcong, Lake Hopatcong, Mount Arlington, Dover, Denville, Mount Tabor are 20(ish) or less (the closest is 5 miles). Mountain Lakes is probably 25, while Morris Plains and Hackettstown are about 30.

Ten miles from commuter rail, which I always use to get to Dallas Union Station, about 30 miles from here.
BTW, my most recent trip was to the Amtrak-Trains Town Hall Meeting in Chicago. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip, even though I was a bit ill.
Durham, NC, about 25 mlies. Piedmont and Carolinian. I've never ridden them.
An hour and a half and a state line from either Kingman, AZ or Barstow, CA - and no destination conveniently reachable from either that I'm interested in visiting. None of my preferred destinations are on Amtrak routes.

5 miles from the Buena Park Metrolink station and 8 miles from the Fullerton Amtrak and Metrolink station. When going to LA in the early AM I take a chance on the BP station, but parking is very tight there, even though I have a Handicapped Placard.
