So, what am I supposed to do? In the event editor you can make up new activities, I think. I'm not sure how to use it and gave up on it. Or you can play the same activities over and over until you get perfect at them. Usually I just use my imagination and make up stories about why this train is going where it is and why it stops when it does. I also use the explore route to practice getting used to a locomotive or route before I do the activities. Someone suggested using real maps. I find it difficult to get a good internet map and a road atlas isn't too good because they don't print tracks. I'd suggest writing to the tourism office of the state(s) that the routes go through to get a state highway map because those usually have tracks on them. Trains Magazine at one time was printing detailed cross section fold out maps of particular routes and had hoped they would do the Marias Pass but unfortunatly they discontinued that series. I'd like to see them do maps on Marias Pass, NE Corridor (DC-Philiadelphia), and Cumberland, MD to Rockwood, PA (the Sandpatch Route of the Chessie System, an add on to MSTS by www.mapleleaftracks.com). I figured if you added one, it would be controlled from the headend, but when I view it, it is dead weight, no exhaust or engine noise, and as i try to make it over Marias pass, I end up sliding backwards.
