EJE, I have always wanted to see the CNW units.
Well today I got to go to Point. A day after Brent went sure made a big difference. Anyway we stopped on the way back from the Pumpkin chucking fest at Nekoosa. Well we saw a train while going there sitting on the tracks. It had a WC on it too and it looked like a SD40-2! But my dad wouldn't turn around. He said we could see it in Point, which we didn't. But anyway after that we headed into Point. Allot of really colorful power was there. So here's my trip.
Well this train kinda took me by suprise. This was the train to Wausau. I didn't have a scanner, but could tell by the cars it was hauling.
That train really supirsed me, so I couldn' get a great shot of it.
There she is taking off.
I kinda expected 3027 to be there. It was pretty nice I could get a half way desent shot of her.
Good ol' 6107, I've seen her alot lately. I've actually seen alot more IC Repaints than normal up here. Usually I see 6015 up around here, but I haven't seen her lately. This really isn't a good sign.
Finally, I get to see a GTW again, it's almpost been a year scence I last saw one.
3026 was a suprise. Nice to see her again.
Oh my the Grey Ghosts have returned.
Haven't see 1563 in a while. Now I can get a better shot of her.
Uck, a bad shot of 1566.
Wow, talk about a lucky day! The WC Flag AND Map engines, GTW ex-DT&I GP38-2, a WC switcher, and two IC GP40s in one day! Great shots! Here are two shots from yesterday. Brent, also a nice shot of the Flag engine.
The CNW trio heads down the triple track between La Fox and Geneva.
A BN SD70MAC with a BNSF shoosh patch departs Eola Yard.
I have more shots that I haven't posted yet. I've found out more about the EJ&E/CN deal. The reasoon CN got EJ&E for $300 Million is USS is only giving CN the SD38s, SD38-2s, SDMs, the lone SD18, four SW1200s, the SW1001s and two slugs. USS is keeping the remaining SW1200s, the lone NW2, the rest of the slugs, and the SW1500, plus all of EJ&E's rolling stock except for flatcars. The flatcars will also go to CN. By the way, it sounds like WC 7525 is on its way to IRM, going in the correct direction this time. Now UP just has to accept it at Proviso.
Nice shot of the Map unit on the turntable WCfan. I'd still like to catch that thing one of these days, but I count myself lucky to have just seen the Sesqui and the 2500. Who knows though, maybe one of these days I'll get lucky...
Neat shot of the trio as well Robby, though I think the duo look better without that "heritage" unit in there..
I kind of like the SD70MACs with the swoosh on them, or at least it's interesting. I didn't known they were doing them though until I saw one on a coal train a few weeks ago.
Noah
Thanks. I caught 2500 and the Map unit just last week. When did you seem them? I've been pretty lucky though to see the WC I did. Even though I didn't get to see a SD45. I've seen somethings that some people haven't seen in a while.
The 7510 and the 7517 are already in service on the DMVW, the 7505 as stated is still undergoing rebuilding. The consist with the GTW 5955 and the GTW 6420 looks like a 405 consist to me, maybe I'll skip school at lunch.
Alec
1995 sure is in an odd position there. i wish he would lead....to Altoona...without the duo :P
unfortunately i have nothing to report. aside from discovering CNW 4153 is alive and well. a grain elevator currewntly owns and runs him. what i like is that he was chop nosed the right way rather than hte horrendous job performed on 4120. 'cept his cab logos and numberboards are missing. but the logo on his nose remains intact. it makes me happy to know there's still a real CNW somewhere out there in the world
Your friendly neighborhood CNW fan.
