Not only are they neat engines, some of them still have their neat sounding IC horns. I have also seen 7 different DM&IR engines, 6 of which were in active service. I remember back in 2005 when I saw my first DM&IR, and as an added bonus I got to see it move. It was SD38-2 209. Ever since, the engine has been parted out and its motor went to a CN engine. I am wondering why there have been so many WC GP40-2s and GP40s lately. Before last May, I had only seen one. Ever since, I have seen 5 of them. I have seen the Map engine twice. Seems that these WC engines have been on locals and in yard service lately. The GTW and IC engines also seem to be GPs quite frequntly. In any case, there has been quite a rainbow of power on the old IC lately.

I was at Railcamp too!
Personally, I think the first shot of 2317 is my favorite, the mountians and rounhouse really stand out. About Homewood, I have CN a lot of CN painted SD40-2s but not many IC Speaking of Homewood, if any of you ever come to Chicago, check out the new Homewood Railroad Park and equipment displays, located near the Metra/Amtrak station. The park is on the east side of the tracks, the equipment displays are on the west side and consist of a IC GP10 and a IC caboose. Here is a sample of what to see around Homewood.
Another WC GP40!

Sweet! A DM&IR SDM!
SP 8613, WC 3006, and DM&IR 411 sit at the shops. I don't mind seeing the DM&IR and WC engines together at all, let alone with a unpatched SP next to them!

I agree, nice catch. A while back (like last year) I caught 3006's sister, 3005. To bad 3005 is scrapped. Well, atleast I got a proto-shot for my Atlas WC GP40 3005.
Found this old SP in PA, the pictures not the best, because I was in the car, but here it is.
I like the SP. That one is an oldie.
Anyway, 6004 came around to Graphic Packageing again. I wasn't conserened about getting a good photo, as I was more conserened about getting Proto-type shots for in the future. Thses photo's will come in handy when I make my Former AC SD40-2 6004. Now this wasn't the greatest location. There where trees and power poles in the way. SO this would be my best shot.
The DMIR 411 was a unit that I caught up during my trip to the Missabe. It was a trailing unit on a loaded ID (interdivision) ore train to Two Harbors. I caught it at Highland, MN:
I don't think I've posted these here yet either, though a few of you have seen them other places. I finally finished the GP15 models that I've been superdetailing and custom painting. They are done for the Wisconsin Northern, a little shortline that is located in west/central Wisconsin, north of Eau Claire. They run on a little over 30 miles of former CNW and SOO line track. The two GP15s are the only power that is painted for them, but they also use a SW1500 that is in Progressive Rail paint (their parent company).
This is the first time I've really ever gone full out on details on a locomotive too, from MU hoses to lift rings and most everything in between. I tried to go as protypical as possible, short of a couple of things that would have involved a lot of extra work. The stripe on the locomotive is actually a series of decals, so the only paint colors were the green and the black on the walkways and underframe, along with a few other colors on detail parts.
The prototype:

Not the best photos, but they give you the idea. I'm really happy with the locomotives, I think they turned out pretty well. Now just to decide what my next locomotive superdetailing project will be...

So I've heard. There's supposed to be eight of them, and they are supposed to get straight air too. Should be interesting to see what happens to the DMIR fleet after that...
i got some new pics.
