I dont really understand your whining. You say love the WC. Ok right, THEIR PAINT SCHEME IS STILL AROUND! You say you love the SD45's. THERE ARE STILL TONS AROUND! Dont try to say you love the WC scheme on the 45's, because SD40's and 45's paint looks the same, flair or not.....

yeah and the SD40's frame juts out really far on both ends. it doesnt have proportions as cool as the 45 did. i love the SD40 series, dont get me wrong, but the SD45 was just plain neat. the SD40s looked like geeps with bigger frames. SD45s looked completely new. there was a unique coolness to them
the SD45s were the "flagships" of WC. the very soul of that road as far as i'm concerned. you can see SD40-2s almost anywhere, but you can't see SD45s very easily.
oh right. MRL. i'll just go to Montana. you know. because it's right next door... that and if i fan on the MRL, i might run the risk of seeing an SD70ACE with those hideous noselights. i haven't been very happy with MRL since they did that

Maybe some units can be sold to brazilian railroads to be used on broad or narrow gauge. If they can be bought by narrow gauge EFVM or FCA they can be rebuilt to BB45, like this BB45-2 on EFVM fleet. This is an old ATSF SD45-2. Here we see it pulling a passenger train at EFVM mainline.

That's a pretty nice looking unit. The 8 axles really give it a new look. I suppose they had to widen the frame of the locomotive to accomidate the two B-B trucks on either side right?

WC 7519 was set out in the Engine Facility in Markham yesterday. Maybe it will join the 7525 back in service. BTW, the 7525 is on the CN again!

Yes, the frame is a bit wider now. It´s very nice to run a passenger train pulled by them!
Wow! I've read all the posts. And I'm amaized and sad. CN got rid of that many SD45s in that short amount of time. All those locomotives had alot of stories behind them, most came from BN and ATSF, some may have been from GN of Frisco(Highly dought it). But one Locomotive I was dearly close to, is gone. It looks like it was gone way before you guys started posting. 7528 or to you BN fans 6528. She was the first locomotive I noticed when I got into model railroading. She's got alot of stories behind here, Came from BN, hit a gravel truck in Chicago, got a UP nose, roamed the rails a little while, got upgraded, then killed by CN. I'll miss her.(some of you may have read this on the other WC roster thread in the Trains mag fourm.)

WC 7495 is heading north today on 343, past Duplainville at 7am. And she is most likely heading for Max, or the Duluth Railroad Museum! Max, Im comin up to Duluth very soon, I'll give you a holler.
