James What I understand to be the only Bi-Polar prototype in existence is at the National Museum of Transportation, a facility which is located near the intersection of I-44 and I-270 near to southwest corner of metropolitan Saint Louis. As of maybe 3-years ago the unit was painted orange and maroon and looked pretty nice, but the pantographs were missing. Unfortunately it's on display outside and is jammed between other railroad equipment. Photography of this unit requires a wide-angle lens. Posted by CMSTPP on Sun, Mar 5 2006 6:47 PM Well I'm glad to know that the Bipolar is in Saint Louis. Atleast I can come and look at the unit and get all the pictures of it. One question? Do they allow people to go inside or is it a piece no one can enter? Thanks for the info. James The Milwaukee Road From Miles City, Montana, to Avery, Idaho. Posted by packers97 on Thu, Mar 9 2006 8:40 PM I volunteered at that museum in the late 90's while living in ST.louis. At that time only one side had been repainted, they said they did not have the money to complete the project. They are very friendly people at that museum, and I'm sure if you contacted them ahead of time, they would arrange for you to look inside. Now, If we could just get some 3000 volt trolley and get the thing running...... Question: In the history of the human race what single thing is responsible for more destruction and death than any other? Answer: Organized religion.
