    havy any body heard of a train in run 8 ?
    i have on 3 occasions

    That's my earliest memory! 3 CP SD40-2s working on the head of a coal train up the west side of Roger's pass, near beavermouth....I wish I could go back....
    Haven't heard anything like that lately, I think, and think is the key word.

    I work in a bike shop that's in a former depot at the summit of a 1% grade. It's fun to watch customers' faces when one goes by at run 8 15 feet away.

    Yeah, a couple of Ex-Conrail C36-7's. They sounded as if they were about die.
