If we are going to talk about my favorite railroad here, the proper name is Canadian Pacific Railway, NOT CP or CP Rail. Our Canadian brothers were the first in the northern hemisphere to build a railway that ran all the way from one coast to the other. The CPR was, and still is a railroad that is truly "transcontinental".

I like em both, but if I had to pick one and only one, I'd have to go with CP due to all of its history and so forth.

CP Rail...since it's the railway I watched in awe as freights and the Canadian sped through my hometown, and hearing the SW2 come in from North Bay to switch at the pulp and paper mill at night.

HAving grown up in Transcona, Manitoba, where every second person worked for the Canadian National Railways, the railway soon becomes the favourite. Many of my class mates from high school ended up working for the CN, although I missed that dubous honour.
CP Rail now rules the roost here in Calgary but the CN is still the sentimental favourite.

CP. CN is okay, but CP is far more colorful a road IMO.

Having worked for the CN and also because I was on the last run of a coke fed steamer from Wainwright to Edmonton (can't remember its number)(*** old age brain) the sentimental selection has to be CN. All so because I model CN.

I would have to go with Cp. Some of my relatives worked for CPR. When I lived in Port Moody BC I would have swim meets across the street from a small cp yard . I remember missing a race or 2 climbing up on the engines and a very friendly engineer gave me a quick tour of the cab and told me which lever does what. All that and I was only a little over 6. CPR is considerably more colorfull too , though I do like some of CN's northerns,.

Oh yeah, because I used to see the CN carferries....that's the only reason for the bias.

I would have said CN had we been talking about the 1980's. Nowadays, its CP all the way.

I finally figured out who I like. CP..........Darn I can't make up my mind. CP is not controlled by Canada anymore. This sucks. I may just have to start liking CN.

The reason why it is only CP & CN is because I like Canadian railroads.

CN is not a canadian road anymore. The government has no control aymore........[%-)]
