Where is the biggest train yard? I live in New York, where is one that I'm able to go into? I'm so curious I'm sorry! I want to work on a train so badly Somebody please let me know! Thank you!
Hi, You DON't go into rail yards. They are private property. Two that are accessible to see from public property are Allentown, PA and Selkirk, NY near Albany. I prefer Allentown. You can get close enough to the hump to actually talk to hump employees if they are not busy.
new york city :)
If i go to allentown, pa , do you think that one employee can talk to me? I want to learn the process of becoming an employee and what not! thank you so much by the way :) i cant wait to go now!

Most railroads will have a web site. Chances are employment opportunities will be listed somewhere on their site. Railroads also generally have a phone number in the local phone book in a community where they have a presence. Call them and ask about employment. I would think you will get much better information that way than going to a yard and talking with a random employee.
if at first u do not succeed try again. the Kansas city area has schools for cunductors and engineers
