Trains.com Reader Poll - February 2004

  • Don't you think it's about time for a new readers poll? The current one is about two months old.
  • ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
  • I have access to three hi-speed networks plus satellite but have stayed with 56K dial-up due to the extra 25.00 C$ per month cost. Somewhat frustratingly slow at times but late evenings seem OK. Located northern central Ontario in Canada.
  • now have comcast broadband best i've had of several incl dial-up, tele[sprint],hi-speed. this is the quickest, most reliable. NO PROBLEMS web cam runs very good, your videos look good, not the jerky things u c on other providers. click & its there. takes about 2-3 seconds to acess the internet home page
  • All, I want is full acess to all of the services that you have. Speed is not the point. IT IS SERVICE AND INFORMATION.
  • DSL from my phone company.
  • I use dialup 56K, its a little slow but I am usually not in that big of a hurry, plus it helps meet by expense budget. It is also a lot of fun reading a lot of the forums that are on here, espcially reading about the ole steam operated passenger trains that I grew up back in the forties and early fifties.[:)]. ldolby
  • Use home ADSL from Manx Telecom and Mannet isp at 512kbps Brill.
  • Don't have a computer(Horrors) use a Webtv on a phone line. Ok for me I put my computer money into model trains. Can't see video's or go into a chat room that uses Java Script but it get's me where I want to go online.
  • Ho Hum. Same old poll that's been here for 3 months.
  • WE NEED A NEW POLL ,IN THIS ONES PLACE [:(!][ :(!][ censored] BEN
  • I use home dialup that averages 5 to 8 kb per second, for most of my access to Trains.com / modelrailroading.com. But on my lunch break, I use our company's T1 line... Technology really is a wonderful thing.
  • Verizon wireless internet (cell phone) suscom cable modem (home)
  • I switch to earthlink DSL a year ago I will never go back to dial up. The speed and the cost is the same as having a second phone line.
    Chris
  • Cable modem for the past 5 or 6 years now, I don't even remember what those dial-ups sound like anymore.
