This is my scratchbuilt model of Dunellen Coal & Lumber on my small shelf-type layout. The prototype company didn't have coal silos, but I needed something to hide the track ending at a wall. The model is patterned after Sargeant Brothers Coal in Somerville, NJ. The 4 silos are 2-inch PVC pipe wrapped with Evergreen scribed styrene. There are 38 bands around each silo that are made from 3 lengths of Evergreen .020 rod with three band connectors each (you do the math). The office building is a Woodland Scenics gas station with a scratchbuilt roof and a full interior. The billboard graphics are scanned and modified from an old matchbook cover. The trucks are modified Lee Town models.
