Your kidding? Right? You should send him the link of what we've been talking about that peice of junk. Then maybe he'll lower the price 20 bucks more.

That would be funny!!!Laugh [(-D] Too bad E-Bay would filter it out. They don't want people setting up side deals that they don't get a cut of. (Though I guess a cut of $20 is better than no cut at all!!!Tongue [:P])

And most of those people who looked at it clicked on the link at the beginning of this thread!  heh heh.

There are alot of impulse buyers and suckers out there!  Kind of reminds me of Ralph Cramdon from the old show The Honey Mooners who was always pinning his hopes on some sucker dream to make money and his poor wife Alice dealing with it.  It's almost depressing what people will try to do to scam others, and likewise depressing that suckers will fall for the scams.  Many ebay sellers prey on those kind of people - looks like we have one there.

THere are collectors markets for things many would consider junk.  Should we label those things junque?  I mean "collectors" train sets which are cheap toys pained for race car drivers, or some other special interested.  They are otherwise junky toys but aimed at collectors.  I doubt this fall in that category tho.

FYI- It was an eBay commercial from 2 years ago.

Here we are in the home stretch again, the price has been slashed to $345, there's 45 minutes left, and still no bidders. What's wrong? Sad [:(]

He is probably all excited thinking that the potential demand is huge based on the number of hits the first auction got.  Of course he probably does not know that 90% of these were us clowns looking at the auction progress!

Oh yeah, we're here to marvel at that "wonderful" Tyco set!

3hrs and 24min to go and not a soul has dared to touch it!

I've got to check in on this later to see if anyone actually bid on it.

Being a coin collector I know that what people think is junk may very well be gold to the right collector. Case in point I have a complete set of Mercury Dimes. My best looking dime is a 1944 D mint state AU 68. It looks brand new and is Slabed (means seller sent it to be graded) On a good day worth say $125.00. That is a real good day I will added. Then I have a worn out G-5 (means it looks like a POS) 1922-D. Something like a Tyco dime. It is worth $1200.00 on a bad day and normaly $2000.00 and Good day $3500.00.

To the right person it could be worth that kind of money. I bet none of you would give $10.00 for the dime.

Want to guess what I sold this for?

Did you sell it for a dime? Any way the saying here is "One mans trash is another mans tresure" and that saying goes right to that Tyco set.

Ya know, you can take a dog turd and put it in a fancy box, wrap it with very high class paper, add a professional bow, and put it on display, but the doesnt change the content.

I'm wondering if this guy just buys a lot of stuff at garage sales and had the train set and a display case laying around and figured if he put them together and gave it a real "slick" write-up some gullable star eyed innocent would cough up the big bucks for it.

Otherwise it just doesn't make any sense.
