kind of a hobby to me Bowling. i started 2 years ago so this is my 3rd year. i have like a 157 average but i'm a lot better than what my average says. part of the reason its so low is i have a entraped nerve in my forearm that i need some test done on it. but its feeling better now so i'm not worrying about it. my average should be like 170-180.

also i play baseball for my high school. thats what i pretty much live for in the summer. there isn't anything i'm more interested in than baseball.

hobbies include probably a little guitar. i try to play not often though. music. have a huge CD collection and i'm always listening to the radio or CDs even driving to school, 2 blocks. play PS2 is a hobby i guess. i'm a teenager what kid doesn't do that. mainly sports games and racing. i can't stand that fake stuff like the animated cartoon stuff. doesn't fly with me. i enjoy fantasy sports like football, baseball, and basketball. also enjoy reading about sports and hopefully going to start writing about games on TV and what not.

just a few things.

Hobbyists are those folks who have more interesting things to do than constantly watch TV once the chores are done simply because there is nothing else to do. Generally if they have a main hobby, they have other hobbies too.

Used to be into ham radio, now amateur astronomy, woodwork, guitar and fiddle. Life is great!

My other hobbies include video games and collecting baseball cards. It's hard to say which is my favorite hobby. I don't collect nearly as many baseball cards as I used to, though, so it's either video games or model railroading.
huh?

I put NO, but meaning nowhere, anywhere near my interest in model railroading. I've been "playing with trains" <cringe> for almost fifty years now. It consumes me to the point where I have decided to put most of my time, energy, and resources into it. I tell people, "Trains are my LIFE". I am finally in a position now where I am retired due to disbility and spend my entire day doing something train or model railroad related, even if it's spending too much time on these lists and forums! No big deal since it's all train related. At some point I'll get the room prep stuff in the basement hired out, get the local posse to help me on the layout, and then I won't be such an arm..., uh, mouse click modeler anymore. It's all train to me...and I LOVE it.

Music collecting, music performing (I sing and play drums for a band that I also manage), target shooting, science fiction books, comics. I was once very into roleplaying games, still have all the stuff but don't play. I was very into leatherwork for a while (sold it at nightclubs and online) and used to build computers for fun and to sell back when you could make money doing that. I also book shows for experimental music bands and DJ at nightclubs, which I suppose would be considered hobbies because I don't make any money doing it...

Aside from being a railroader, I like lifting weights, playing violent video games, spending time with my nephew, and cooking. Does eating count as a hobby? [:D] Cause I do enjoy it.

I am the owner of an HO Slot Car Race Shop. We have two large tables (16' x 6' 4 lane and 14' x 6' 4 lane) and a small table (8' x 6') that we race on. We race every Friday and Saturday night. We have a race group that ranges in attendance of high teens to mid twenties. All total we are approximately 50+ racers strong in our group. We race for points to get trophies and plaques. The cars we race vary in make including LifeLike (the one and the same), Tomy (Super G+), Tyco (440X2), Wizzard (aftermarket company making the awesome Patriot cars), and Scale Auto (Panther). We modify these cars in several differant ways per make to create multiple classes of cars. This is a very fun hobby for boys and girls of all ages. The maintenance of the cars is much similiar to that of locomotives. Some of these cars run armatures that are identicle to locomotives, and because they also run on rails, they share a good amount of likeness. If any of your guys are in the Virginia coastal area, let me know and I can give you directions.

Actually a truly serious model railroader, which I consider myself to be, needs no other hobbies. In order to do justice to, and fully enjoy this hobby, a wide variety of other skills are needed. Carpentry, electrical, electronics, photography, model building, historical research, painting, architecture, engineering, design, and computers are just a few that came to mind quickly. Rather than get involved in a lot of time, money, and energy consuming activities, I have chosen to roll them all into one and focus on a single goal..... designing and building a first class model railroad. FOCUS! you will be rewarded.

I enjoy reading, collecting old R&B, jazz, and pop records from the 50s and 60s (those not available on CD) and transferring them to CD-R for my personal use, cosmology, science, traveling to off-beat places (despise tourist traps), thrift stores and rummage sales, and other non-mainstream interests.

I try to grow some vegies in the summer but didn't this year. I also try to do some landscaping around the house, but again, didn't this year.

I like to draw pictures with pencil crayons (trains are one of my favourite subjects), I play guitar in a rock 'n' roll band, I like to record music and manipulate photo images with my computer, and I'm a bit of an emergency vehicle buff. Regading the latter hobby, I have a few models of fire engines (some in HO scale) and a few old electronic sirens.

In addition to full scale railfanning and modeling, I'm also into camping(I'm a moderator of an online camping board for pop-up campers), NASCAR, classic car restoration, and the occasional boating and fishing.[8D]
